MyMagic+ Review: MagicBands & FastPass+

I think it's as simple as Disney feeling that someone with an advance FP+ reservation is less likely to decide to change their mind and go somewhere else on that day.

But it can also mean that if we can't get the fp+s we want, we can change our mind before we ever even enter the park. They will lose out on all the money we would spend in the park that day.

I don't have a "smart phone" - therefore no "apps" - so I don't see this working for me. Besides, my sister has health issues that will affect what we do and when on each day, so FP times in advance wouldn't work for us. And I have never linked a credit card to anything and wouldn't want to now. Just give me my usual KTTW card, and an occasional simple FP and I'll be a happy camper!! :thumbsup2

Not sure if this is the right spot but... I have a question...

We recently just reserved our full Disney vacation through aaa for next June. I was able to link our confirmation number to the mde, which shows our hotel information, but doesn't show our park hoppers.

Should it show our park hopper tickets, or do I need to add those separate? Can I even add the tickets yet?

You don't need a smartphone or an app to use FP+. You can reserve your FP+ on any computer, then just make sure you write down or print out your times. That's all there is to it. There are also kiosks in the parks where you can view and modify your FP+, depending on availability.

Also, eventually, regular old FP will be phased out.

I don't have a smart phone either, and don't plan to get one or use one in the parks. The only real useful situation that you'd need one for is if a ride breaks down Disney can notify you of the ride closure so that you can make FP+ adjustments as necessary or so that you don't have to walk all the way to your FP+ reservation only to discover that the ride is down.

Did you buy the tickets separately or book a package? If you bought them separately (not as part of a package) then you'll need to link them on the MDE website if you want to eventually book FP+ (which by then will likely be in full swing).

I think when this is at full speed, there will be special offers popping up like a loyalty card. Someone in a group will need some device to take advantage of "surprise and delight" bonus fastpass offers, special BOG lunch passes, last minute parade viewing fastpass, reserved seats for Off Kilter, or maybe even a buy one get one free dole whip in addition to updates about ride closures and fastpass redistribution

And I've read on other boards where only 30% of eligible testers are even opting in to this thing. So that means 70% of people that could give feedback, aren't. Not to mention the majority of people that are in the parks that weren't even eligible to begin with. All test data they may have right now points to this...

One can only hope I'm wrong. :rolleyes1

I'm not ready to proclaim FP+ an epic fail yet. The tests they are conducting are producing skewed results/feedback, due to being able to double dip and use both systems. That won't be the case when FP+ is rolled out to everyone.
