It's all luxuries and that means there is no ethical dilemma about anything people choose to spend their money on while there.

Someone said earlier that most people will use their band as a KTTW card and not even try the FP+ that it is too much planing for their vacation. I would have to agree. I read something somewhere can't remember it if was a post or article but it was right after testing started so I think Mid august. Someone noticed a family with with the bands and asked them how they like them. They had wonderful things to say about the convenience. They asked about FP+ they had no idea they could make online selections and download the app and once they were told their attitude was "Why would anyone want to do that." So I think it comes down to the different people and the way they plan. I'm a planner. I have all my ADRs (but 1 BOG because i'm still trying lol) I know what park we go to on what days. That's me I feel I need a game plan or I'll miss somethings that I consider top priority if I don't. But there are plenty of people who believe vacations are something you DON'T plan. I have a friend going in Sept who had NO IDEA that the MB existed or about FP+ i just educated her. She said "our attitude is we book and we go have fun, no planning" SO not sure if I would worry about people having a "leg up" how someone put it by staying at a Testing resort, Truth is a lot people wont fully use it.

I hope AOA still has the bands in January if not I'll be bumbed but I wont thing of it as a disadvantage.

It definitely changed up the planning stuff. Having to navigate MDE, and deal with some peculiar errors and bugs in the process, was an extra pain. I am probably going to make use of them, though, since we may not (most likely will not) have access to traditional FP while there. The lack of park hopping flexibility being built into FP+ is an annoyance, though. I've used FP at 3 parks in the same day before and FP+ trying to lock that out from the start is poor design, especially when the connected ticket media allows for park hopping.

Are there any current FP attractions that are not on your list? When I look in November, I am not seeing as large a list as there was in October, but I thought it included all the current FP attractions in the list. As long as it includes all the current FP attractions, then you're not missing out compared to people with paper tickets being able to use FP machines in the park.

What did MDE say after your countdown for bands was over? Mine used to say "10 days to customize" and I customized. It went down each day and now says "0 days to customize" and has for 2 days. I can still change things. It seems weird because I've heard people say the customized this bands and had them two days later. I customized mine two weeks ago.

Help! Is there something else I need to do?

You don't need to do anything else. I saw a similar countdown - and the app said 0 days left while online said 'Last Day' to customize for two days, then it also said 0 days. Finally it said "processing". I think the original 'you have until xx day to customize' was displaying one day earlier than my actual cutoff date. I received my bands yesterday and got an email the day before that, giving me a tracking number.

I don't really see FP+ as an added benefit for my family, at least for this trip. My mom and dad live near WDW in Winter Haven, and have AP. They will be joining us at the parks on random days. Since the days will be random, I can't really schedule FP+, because they are not FP+ eligible at this time. It wouldn't be any fun for us to be FP+ on Soarin and not have them there with us. Now, there are a few rides that they flat out won't do, like Mission Space, so we may FP+ for it. We usually just send my dad as FP runner with all our cards (he says that's how he stays in shape!), at rope drop and this has worked for us for years.

Now, I personally see MB as being an added benefit. Usually, I am THE card keeper for our family, which I probably still will be Granted, I'll have to whip out the cards for regular FP, but! not having to pull that darn card out 100 times a day (for drinks, snacks, pins, etc.) is a huge deal for me. Since my DS is 14 this year, he is more than responsible enough to keep track of his band and use his best judgement on purchases. He'll have a set total amount he can spend on souvenirs this trip and will have to keep track of his spending on his own, when he reaches that limit, I'll send him down to apply his spending money to our room account.

We are going to be staying at POP Oct 9-12.. We are AP holders.

I was able to do all of our FP+ ressies and pick colors and everything seems fine.

But I dont understand something, Do we still need to carry around our annual passes, or are they now programed into our Magic Band?

(I did go into our account and add our AP pass numbers)

So 4 of us staying at POR so we will be eligible for MB and FP+ but have other members of family staying at OKW on dvc, is there anyway to add them to my group a they get MB too?

For discounts? I thought I use my magic band to pay for merchandise that it would show that I have an AP discount?

Also does anyone know if I enter the park with my regular AP RFID card..would I be able to pull regular fast passes AS WELL as use the fastpass+ with my magic band.

In the future day guest will get Magic Bands, so I'm sure those hotels will have it.
