***MyMagic+ & FastPass+ Official Information & FAQ Thread***

I already booked a room for this weekend and then found out it was a resort where they are testing. The CM said to be sure to check out MyDisneyExperience online and the app, so I did, and that's when I signed up for FP+ and saw mention of the Magic Bands.

Wouldn't pay extra to do it but if its offered, I'll take it!

I saw some discussion about people booking 1 night at a particular resort just to get into an FP+ testing group. FP+ is not sufficiently great, at least at this point, to be worth paying anything extra for or going to any special hassle.

If I want to book a room for one night to get fast pass+ and magic bands I can. Why would anyone even care. It's my money.

You can do whatever Disney will let you do. I'm in an FP+ testing group and I don't think it is worth that kind of hassle for anyone, but by all means go for it if you're determined. You don't need my permission or my approval, or my recommendation, right? I'm just saying that I've experienced nothing with it so far that makes it worth that kind of hassle.

As I mentioned before, there was a HUGE and very heated thread some years back about people who booked camp sites at Ft. Wilderness just to get EMH access, but stayed offsite. Basically the same idea.

There is certainly an ethical dilemma there and I can say I would never engage in such activity. I wouldn't be comfortable with the idea that even 1 person might be denied a legitimate reservation because of a scam I was trying to run to get access to something I'm not really supposed to have. I realize that other people don't have the same concerns.

I sincerely apologize if this has been asked. I have read through much of the thread, but didn't find the answer to my questions.

We have purchased 10 day passes for our upcoming November trip, however, we intend to upgrade to annual passes once we get there.

1. Can we link our 10 day passes to MagicBands, and then upgrade to annual passes once we get there?

2. IF they are still testing in November, AND we are able to upgrade to annual passes, will any fastpass reservations be transferred to the new annual pass?
!

If you are at a test resort and do get a magic band, your 10 day tickets will be on your magicband.

We had ten day tickets on our band, upgraded to annual passes on our last day, and our fastpasses transferred successfully to the new pass. However, the cm's were not sure if they would stick, but they did. :goodvibes

Disney is gleeful to take any money people want to throw their way.

Disney will take money from anybody. Whether they're happy to process the credit card or take the cash is not necessarily a good measure of the ethics involved.

As of now the official word is the test is over on October 31st however that could change at any point.

What I've been seeing for November has pretty much been the same attractions that currently have FP. That's not a problem, just not any of the extra stuff they tease you with on the website. No parades or events are available for FP+ scheduling at all, at least as of yesterday.

What did MDE say after your countdown for bands was over? Mine used to say "10 days to customize" and I customized. It went down each day and now says "0 days to customize" and has for 2 days. I can still change things. It seems weird because I've heard people say the customized this bands and had them two days later. I customized mine two weeks ago.

Help! Is there something else I need to do?

I don't see the issue if they are staying at the room and using it...

I agree if they are staying in the room. A lot of people aren't though. They are making the reservations just to get MB's with no intention of staying in the room.

Oh, now it's a scam. You're not included in the MB testing are you?

As a PP has stated I will agree to disagree. My opinion has been stated & I will leave it at that. I'm sorry to have been a part of taking this thread off course. I hope everyone has a great time!!

Yes it is ethical. Not a single soul has been locked out of a room at any hotel. I can book a room at POP every single day of every month and so can anyone else. Now if the place was sold out and legitimate guests were not able to secure rooms maybe that would be a little different but that isn't the case. And even if it were, those would be last minute travelers and they shouldn't be surprised that if their first choice was unavailable since you can book at Disney over a year in advance.

So do you think t was unethical for us to book 2 rooms at POP just to get colored bands? We live here and could have slept in our own beds and we already had a set of gray bands. So we really didn't need to book at POP and we didn't need colored bands.

I'm in the FP+ testing group, but when I booked I didn't know I would be. If we were arriving 1 day later at POR, we wouldn't be.

I suppose we can agree or disagree whether booking something you have no intention to use is dishonest or not. I'm certainly not comfortable with the idea myself, but clearly others are. If it is such a great idea, surely my opinion wouldn't matter much, right?

We have different views on this. It's ok for us to disagree.

Clearly you've already made your own mind up. Why do you need me to approve of it?

Not to disrupt the conversation, but back to the actual topic of this thread... :)

I sincerely apologize if this has been asked. I have read through much of the thread, but didn't find the answer to my questions.

3. Finally, where is the list of which resorts are testing the system?

Thank you so much!!!!

1) Yes. But you have to do the upgrade at the park, not the resort.

2) Yes. They belong to your profile, not the ticket. The ticket just dictates how many you can make.

3) Through Oct., they are AKL-J (and AKV-J), CR, YC, BC/BCV, POP, AoA, Poly and POR. Nothing beyond October is known.

I don't need your approval, I'm pointing out that this is a silly argument over luxuries. No one needs to go to WDW or needs to stay in a specific resort or needs MagicBands. It's all luxuries and that means there is no ethical dilemma about anything people choose to spend their money on while there.
