***MyMagic+ & FastPass+ Official Information & FAQ Thread***

I wrote back to Disney and expressed my concerns and they responded:

So I guess I will at least have the old system.

That is no consolation if all the Fast Passes are spoken for before you enter the parks. Or it's certainly possible that only half the normal amount of fast passes will be available by the time you arrive, therefore you many only be able to get passes early in the morning or maybe late late at night. Plus you'll have the 2 hour wait before you can pull a new fast pass.

Was looking through the whole thread, but it's 60 pages long and I'm about to leave for work.. I was just selected for the test while we are there in August (we have APs). Will we still be able to get regular FPs in addition to the FP+? I seem to recall this being the case in previous tests.

In addition, my AP is still in paper form, while DM's has the RFID plastic card AP. Will I have a problem with this logging into MDE?

I was reading this 60 pg long thread and no where is the issue of what happens when you get tickets from UT or any other outside vendor? We're going in July 2014, have reservations for Finding Nemo section in AoA and booked with DreamRes and they informed me about the MDE. We have booked just one ticket with the room since we want to use the DDP. The tickets I was planning on getting are from UT so will I get to plan on MDE? Does it affect it at all? Forgive my ignorance on this matter but its been 4 years since I've gone to WDW and just now going back with DGrS, DD and DSis. We will mostly be spending our time at MK, so we are really only interested in that park and maybe AK. I've always used FP so I would like to use the FP+. Can we still get a the MagicBand? This is totally confusing??:confused3 TIA for any responses.

Once you physically have the tickets from UT you can link (enter in the code numbers on the tickets) your tickets to MDE through the Disney MDE website. Once you do that then you're eligible for FP+.

You can enter UT tickets into MDX.

As for the bolded statement - to get the Dining Plan, you have to have a package where everyone on the reservation gets the same ticket (unless you are an AP holder or DVC member staying on points). So if there is more than one of you, you will have to get a ticket for each person, of whatever the minimum ticket is current required (one or two day base). You can always save these tickets for the future, but given that you have to get them anyways at the then gate price, the savings on getting the UT tickets for that trip may not be worth it, as you won't be able to "realize" (in an accounting sense) the savings until later.

When I called I was told that you can only use regular FPs on days that you don't use FP+. They explained that you can also opt out of FP+ at anytime while you're there if you don't like how it works; all you need to do is just cancel all of your FP+ reservations.

In previous tests people were allowed to do both FP+ and FP on the same days but that is no longer the case.

So I could opt into everything on the Magic Bands except FP+ and be able to use as many regular FPs as I want? How would I collect regular FP using the Magic Band?

Not necessarily. During testing, they are giving guests both a MagicBand AND a KTTW card, and they are for the most part interchangeable, but a MagicBand cannot currently be used in a FP kiosk, nor are we aware of plans to make it compatible.

In reality, they would only give one or the other. If you got the MagicBand, you could ONLY use FP+.

Eventually, as far as we understand, the plan is to get rid of regular FP anyways.

This is exactly what I was told. The person I talked to when I called actually advised me to take our KTTW card with us everywhere along with with the Magic Bands since we're on the dining plan and most restaurants don't accept the Magic Bands yet.

I should've thought of that! DUH Moment! Thanks again.:goodvibes

Yes, they still haven't dealt with Table Service that much for MagicBands yet, so that's a bit of a blocking factor.

Okay, that's what I figured. If by chance they allow "double dipping" in August, how would that work with an AP? Because before they were giving out KTTW cards, obviously with the tickets attached, to pull regular FPs. Would they connect the AP the the KTTW?

All of this is just conjecture, obviously, if we can't pull both. I think I may opt out of the testing in that case, because we had been using FP very effectively during all of our previous trips, and I can't imagine only having three FP+ per day at this time. In the future, when it's all rolled out, I'll obviously have to deal with it though.

Ok it's been a few weeks since I did this, but I scanned all the tickets in, and either they were all automatically assigned to me or I had to assign them to me, sorry can't remember. It took forever and lots of trial and error to figure out. Then I had to make sure all my party was in the system. Next I had to set each as a person I travel with. Then I had to go in and link each ticket to a person.

They will only show up under tickets, not cards or magic bands, and every time I log onto the site, I get prompted to add my tickets and link them so I can use FP+ even though I'm not eligible to test yet and have already put them all in.

I also have issues with it giving me that error message randomly. I can always see a list of my tickets, and who they are assigned to on the app, but half the time nothing comes up on the computer.

What really confuse me is that when I select an individual ticket on the app it shows who it is matched to, but then displays a "match this ticket" button below that making it seem like it is still unmatched.

The whole thing just seems like a big mess to me right now, with a lot of bugs still needing to be worked out.

Ok gotcha. Thanks for clarifying.

Just wanted to put it out there that if you have any suggestions or comments about this thread or how to improve it, please PM and I'll do my best to add whatever you feel is appropriate. Of course, I'll cite that it was you who had the idea (should you want me to). Thanks!

By the way, as other posters have eluded to, no standard FP during the next couple tests.

Which stinks for the testers but I am glad that Disney is finally going to have a truer test of how it will go. Of course there's been so much positive feedback so far. Testers have been able to use both systems and the small amount of testers made it easy to make and change FP+ reservations.

You enter the FP line. At places like Pirates where there was no FP lane, they've now converted the ride so the right hand side is now the FP lane and it merges near the loading area with the SB line and you can be sent to the left or right at the merge point.

But the chess-playing skeletons can only be viewed from the right side entrance! Does this mean that only FP holders can view that scene now?? D'oh

I thought I read posts of people being told they would have a kttw as a back up but couldn't use fp & fp+ at the same park.

I guess we'll see. I hope testers post their experiences.

When you say no standard FP during the next couple of tests, do you mean no standard FP on days when you use FP+? That is what I was told when I called about our upcoming Aug trip. She also pointed out that this is different than it was for initial tests where you could use both on the same day (that would've been nice).

I understand them preventing double-dipping of FP+ and standard FP on the same day but I want to be sure I can opt out while I'm there if I'm not happy with how well it is working. I was assured that I could (even for one or more days).

Is it better to schedule FP+ for afternoon even if not park hopping? How long after rope drop are there "no lines" ? When should I schedule the first FP+ ?
