Well, hello, Mary! I think there is a lot of people this will work for. I'm looking forward to having some FPP with out having to colect them during my park visit. Also looking forward to the reduction of people running through the parks and crashing into my family.

we are part of the crowd that maximizes FP and I have to say I am looking forward to FP+. We used to avoid FP because we didn't want to do double duty by hoofing it back and forth all day to get the prized FP. Then we were able to develop a touring style with FP and FP running that worked. Returning to the days of not doubling our walking in order to get some FP's is welcome. Also, if we have 4 FP+ attractions and avg. 1 hr wait for other attractions, that's 6-8 standby attraction in an 8 hr day in addition to 4 FP+'s, so I think FP+ won't feel like much of an overall change for us other than we get to save precious footsteps, which is worth a lot to us.

Totally agree with D1gitman. I think it will be advantageous in terms of maximizing the amount of attractions that you can ride as well as minimizing the amount of stress obtaining the FP.

It sounds quite peaceful. . What time of the year do you usually travel?

This year it will be in September. I've checked the calenders and everything else we want to ride will be at most 20 minutes. Shouldn't be an issue, but as I mentioned if it is we'll skip it and ride later/another day. We have three MK days planed.

I've been to the parks when they were super crowded and I've been when I could walk on SM. All were fun because I was in WDW.

LOL is it that bad? My D is nuts about Capt. Jack. Glad to hear we won't need to "waste a FP+" on it because there are SO many other things we want to do at HS like Muppets 3D and Starring Roles cafe.

Well just call me Mary Sunshine because I think 4 FP a day scheduled in advance would be perfect for my family. For MK, I'd use them on ETWB, a parade spot, Dumbo, and princess meet. We don't do fast rides or PPF. For HS I'd pick TSMM, Legend of Captain Jack, Beauty, and Disney Jr. No ToT for this family or coasters. AK would be safari, FotLK, Nemo, Flights of Wonder (that's nearly everything we want to do there anyway). Epcot, Soarin, Illuminations spot, Living with the Land, and Turtle Talk.

Now before you flame me, this is for MY family. I'm not saying it works for everyone or even a majority. I have no desire to run across parks to grab FP. If we don't get FP as we walk then we'll wait in standby or not ride that ride.

It's ok to look forward to it I think it's going to work well for my family too, in theory. But in reality, I have to wait and see how it actually pans out and if we can get the ride schedule that is ok, and how much of a pain using the app is with this, does it make planning more of a pain, etc. The good thing is I can cancel a trip at 45 days if I am not happy after the 60-day signup, so I will be sure not to tell the kids before that. It's going to be tougher dealing with the airline tickets, but we'll see.

So there are a lot of unknowns for me..

When all is said and done it might be easier to list what DOESN'T have FP+!!

I was just thinking that. Presidents, riverboat stitch, treehouse, tiki birds, rafts to Tom Sawyer island, carrousel, teacups, carrousel of progress. At MK, anything else not taking FP+.

How about CoP?? I mean when we rode it in June I could count the number of people in there with us on 2 hands!!!! I will certainly need a FP+ to ride this!!!

It may be quite a while before we ever know if they are holding FP+ in reserve or not, unless we're told by a reliable source.

We won't know what the pre-book utilization is as it ramps up, to know whether those available that day are leftovers. The only way we'd know for sure is when utilization reaches the point that you can't pre-book an attraction at all, but get to the park and find out that there are plenty.

And while FP+ and FP overlap, that could make it even harder to know, if they have FP+ and FP in the same "pool".

Here's another interesting possible issue...while the two overlap, and they are from the same pool, if they DON'T limit FP+ reservations to some percentage of the pool for a given time...what happens if pre-books take all the return times between 7pm and 8pm, while I go that day to use regular FP...and the return time jumps from 6:55pm to 8:05pm? Will I be forced to split up my party?

I get the feeling the overlap may not last too long.

Very valid concerns. I hope this is all part of what they are "testing" now. I have some theories and speculations about this (below) based on the FAQ.

I spoke at length to a CM over the phone who called me to discuss a lengthy email I sent to guest services detailing my many concerns with FP+. The main thing he seemed to stress was that they WANT feedback from guests. If you have a concern, DON'T WAIT until the program rolls out. email them with it NOW.
AND, the WHOLE POINT of FP+ is to make standby lines more manageable and shorter. he specifically said that they spent all that money to make interactive queues for a reason. They expect guests to ride standby.

I've emailed them - twice. First response I got was canned, stay tuned to the website for teh most up-to-date info, blah, blah, blah. I am waiting for the response to my second email.

Disney is also setting themselves up for cancellations if even people like me dont like the FP plus schedule they get at 60 days out. Before, you didn't really know what you were going to get to ride on the actual day. Now you will, and I think that people, whether superusers or not, are going to be looking at their schedule very critically on day 45 before they make that final payment.

No. If you are FastPass+ eligible and you entered the park with a ticket linked to My Disney Experience by using your MagicBand or card, you are not able to use FASTPASS service.

If you are not FastPass+ eligible, you are still eligible to use FASTPASS service. All FASTPASS tickets are subject to availability and are distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Over the coming months, Guests with select Magic Your Way vacation packages will be notified that they may participate in MyMagic+ testing, which includes FastPass+ eligibility.


My thoughts on this portion of the FAQ:
1. If I don't have a package, it may be more beneficial for me to not link my tickets and use Fastpasses in the park. It would give me more flexibility and it won't tie me down to 3-4 FPs, where at least one is an "experience." I could also get more than 1 FP to an attraction.
2. If I have a package, then I have to use FP+. If I don't pre-book, I will still have to use the FP+ in the park to get any Fastpasses.
3. I have the sense that FP+ and FP are going to be separate, at least at the begining, until they completely phase out old FP. But, I am going to guess that it will take some time to completely phase it out.

From what I've read, FP+ reservations can be made 60 days in advance. Is it 60+10 (like ADRs are 180+10) or if they roll this out and I plan a vacation, would I need to log in each day and make reservations for 60 days out? (I hope that question made sense...I'm having trouble phrasing it!)

My guess is that for packages anyway, it will be 60 plus the length of your stay. I cant see how you can book each day in isolation. But that is just my guess!

I found a list and some info on wdwprepschool.com. Of course it's just based on the same info everyone else has so it may not be accurate or could change.
