This trip was planned 7 months in advance and thanks to the DIS boards
and many of my Disney friends we had a wonderful time!! :earsgirl:

Trip dates: Nov.28-Dec.5 We had 7day park hopper tickets

I first visited DW in 1986 and this was the first trip for my husband and kids.
My immediate family: me(36); DH(40); DD(14); DD(11); DS(9); DD(3 1/2)
My parents went also but stayed separately at CSR.
My sister, her family and in-laws also went but stayed in condo off-site

We stayed for 7 nights at the FW cabins. We thought they were wonderful
and very clean. Our housecleaner was sweet and left us many towel animals
and did cute things with my daughters Minnie doll. Yes, we took the 3 oldest
kids out of school. Too expensive a trip to wait in long lines or in the heat any other
time of the year.

We arrived one day early and stayed at the Best Western-Lakeside. It was
an 8 1/2 hour drive from South Alabama. We rested well and got up the next morning,(Mon.) ate a good breakfast, then headed on to FW to register. Didn't expect our cabin to be ready because this was around 10:30am. But it was!!
So we went to check it out and unload and then headed back in town for the
much dreaded grocery shopping. We ate breakfast in the cabin every morning, and brought 4 pre-cooked and frozen meals from home: lasagna,
Enchilada casserole, frozen hamburger patties, and a cooked and frozen roast. We also ate sandwiches in the parks. We ate lunch in the parks 3 times during the week and only ate supper once. We did very good and saved lots of money. Lunch for all 6 of us at a counter service at the America pavillion was $50. Overall, we didn't think the prices were as expensive as we had expected. But when you have 6 in your family it really adds up. O.K., that’s enough of the boring details now on to our days in the parks.

Day 1: Mon., Nov. 28 MGM
We went into MGM after lunch. It seemed more crowded than I was expecting this time of year, but most rides were walk-on or at the most 10 min. waits. We first rode RNR coaster 2 times-awesome!! We then grabbed FP for TOT to ride after dark on our way out. We next saw Muppets 3-D and then rode Star Tours. We thought this was a great experience. We then grabbed a spot to watch the Stars and Motorcars holiday parade. This was a lot of fun and many of the characters came over to my 3 ½ yr. old. We took some great pics. We then went on the Backlot tour. I was afraid my family might not enjoy this and blame me(since I planned our itineraries) but they liked it. It was on my “if-time” list. My goal today was to get one of the 30 min. shows/tours done because I knew it would be hard to fit it all in on our next morning at MGM(Wed.). MGM is harder to plan because of the several 30 min. shows and the differing show times. We then met up with my sister and her family around 6pm for the beginning of the Osborne lights. It was very packed at the entrance so we didn’t travel down the street with the masses but felt we had gotten a good enough look. I thought this would be a good time(at the beginning) because I had hoped most people were in line for Fantasmic. We strolled back toward the park entrance and rode RNR again and then me and 2 of the kids rode TOT. This and Mission:Space were the two rides I was most apprehensive about. But ToT was so much fun.
I felt sorry for my DD14. She so wanted to ride but just couldn’t get up the nerve. She hates dropping. Of course her younger sister and brother gave her a hard time. Maybe she’ll ride it Wed. morning.
:earsboy:

Thank you for the report! Sorry about your daughter- I sympathize with her- won't ride rides that drop.

YEAH!!!!!!!! :teeth: I am so glad that you and your family had a great time. I can't wait to read about all of the other days!!!!! :earsboy: :earsgirl:

I looked into staying in them and was wondering, what size is the bed in the kitchen/living room? Is it big enough for 2 people?

Thanks!

The bed is a double. Definitely 2 people can sleep on it.
My 14yr old daughter and 11 yr. old daughter slept on it.

The cabins are so quiet and peaceful. We loved them.
Hope this helps.

Sounds like a good start! Very clever to bring along prepared meals, I like that idea. :sunny:
