myDisneyExperience - managing multiple vacations

Hello! I'm seeking some help understanding if/how myDisneyExperience manages multiple vacations. I'm 13 months out from heading to WDW for the first time in 5 years - have yet to experience the magic bands or myDisneyExperience.

To keep ahead of ticket prices, I've purchased eight 6-day hopper tickets. Four for the April 2017 trip and four for the future. If I put all of these tickets into myDisneyExperience, when it is time for resort reservations how does it all work? Will I be able to link just four of the 6-day hopper tickets to the resort and keep the other four tied to my profile?

I've got 2 resort stays and 2 pairs of tickets on my MDE at the moment.

I have found out that only the first pair of tickets will be used during the first trip, as the tickets are almost stacked, so it uses the one pair until they run out.

You could always just not link the second set of tickets will after the first have been used, to stay on the safe side?

Create "placeholder guests" in your MDE account.
(Like "Mickey-2," "Minnie-2," "Daisy-2.")
And, assign the second set of tickets to those "guests."

That way, "their" tickets won't be used during your first trip.
And, you can reassign those tickets back to your REAL MDE guest names
for use on the second trip.

Unused tickets can be assigned and reassigned at will.
