My wife is in a panic

Hey, I like Toy Story just fine, but I agree with rteetz, they could put something like that in at the Woody's Roundup restaurant coming to TSL. I'd like to see that as a real marionette show too, with live puppeteers controlling them.

Then you can go to Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin... or Toy Story Mania... or Alien Flying Saucer... or Slinky Dog Dash...

I'd like something ELSE Toy Story. Better?

I don't like "charm" – I like entertainment. And the Country Bears, to me, is not entertaining. Doesn't mean it can't be for you! I sympathize with people who loved Malestrom, old Soarin', old Test Track, Snow White, whatever. It's always hard to lose something you like.

The only way losing the Bears could be acceptable is if they packed up and moved the show to a dinner theater at the new Reflections / Fort Wilderness area.

If you've got to jam those accursed toys into Frontierland for a show, the Diamond Horseshoe is closed half the time and could use the love.
I think you are on to something there - Woody's Roundup puppets in the Diamond Horseshoe with quick service food - I like it!

Country Bears for me is a once every 4th trip attraction. My kids don't ask to see it whereas they always want to see the Tiki Room.

I am not sure I would miss it though if it went away with an updated show using modern technology. My guess is it sticks around at least through the 50th.

Country Bears is an interesting thing. It has sort of a cult fan base which I am part of. I love the show. I also love Toy Story. I don't think this needs to be a Toy Story show. They could add entertainment to Toy Story Land alongside the new restaurant.

Country Bears has been sort of on the edge of a cliff for a while though. Roughly 7 years ago they shortened the show considerably. It is still popular though. Gets higher guest satisfaction than some other MK shows. I would rather they work on updating and making the show new than replacing it with Toy Story when that IP has its place in other areas.

Also as a note, Martin who has a good track record on WDWMagic is saying he has not heard of this possibility.
This show has a bit of nostalgic value to me. I'd hate to see them scratch it. Much rather they updated the show with new animatronics, new songs, etc.

There is plenty of room to build out on that side of the park, so I don't understand why they couldn't build out by Thunder Mtn for a Woody's Roundup Show, thematically it makes more sense. Country Bears needs some heavy refurb though, so if maybe, maybe, Woody's Roundup were to be a temporary fill in while they work on updated animatronics for the Bears then I'm okay with it.

In a crazy thought, why does it have to be one or the other? In bizarro-land, why not have the Country Bears get a set of new Toys like Jesse and Woody and make a combined show? :duck:

I read an article today regarding this rumor and that some say that while it was discussed internally there has been push back as well. Sounds like it was just a potential idea, but may not have too much traction, at least at this time. Hopefully that is true.

Honestly, that seems like a great idea to me. Much better than axing a classic. I would like them to give it a bit of a refurbishment so they aren't so clicky, but I'd hate to see it go. But putting an animatronic show in the Horseshoe seems like a good idea--have a "dinner theatre" on either side of the park.

Simple math. If IP1 big data analysis=trendy>IP2 big data analysis=less trendy then IP 1 replaces IP 2

Welcome to the era of smothering IP

Although, I was never a big fan of Country Bears, I'd never want Disney to shut something down that is iconic and has a really rabid fan base. I get that. I love Gran Fiesta Tour, but it certainly is not on many favorite lists, and I have worried about the future of that ride since Coco was released. In the end, will I never go to Disney because they replace a favorite attraction, no. I'll be sad, but in the grand scheme it is a small thing.
Although, rstevens333's idea of a Country Bears dinner show at Fort Wilderness is awesome.

This is my thought. Im even okay if they completely rip it out. Attractions do sometimes run their course and the CBJ humor is definitely from a different era. But good lord it should not be a Toy Story show. Make something original that better fits into Frontierland. I like IPs in the park. Love them even. But every single attraction doesn't need to be IP related Mr. Chapek.
Could see it be Toy Story related show but not using all the characters. Could potentially see it as a Woody's Roundup themed revue to keep it in theme with the area. Use Woody, Jessie, Bullseye, and the Prospector. Maybe add in some new characters. That said I don't see them getting rid of CBJ anytime soon either

The website that shall not be named that has claimed CBJ is closing for a Toy Story show is now being corroborated by a couple other websites as true. I don’t want to break any rules or piss anyone off so I won’t link anything but google should get you the info. It’s NOT 100% and apparently there is internal resistance but from what I’ve been reading the rumor is based in truth.

I don't know why Toy Story would replace Country Bears just to add IP. I mean, there is a Country Bears movie...oh...yeah...that...

Well, it was fun while it lasted! Can't wait to see what Woody is up to.

I hope they don't get rid of CB's. Toy Story has its own place. We have loved CB's since 2006 when my daughter was 5. Before our 1sr trip we had taken a trip so she could visit with my mother in Kentucky. After the show she made everyone around us laugh when she said she liked the show and everyone in it talked like mamaw and her aunts. Ahh the joys of an old Southern accent.

a) CBJ needs to bring back the original show, with the banter. It had more personality and I think would attract more people.
b) Another Toy Story attraction?! I love the films, but it will have more representation than any other IP if this is added. Is it THAT good?
c) If this happens, Bob Chapek will become the vilest of Disney villains in history, at least in my books.

Our next trip to WDW was already going to be a test for if I will return. I am not pleased with SWGE and all the IP that is turning up in the parks. I always figured that if the classics remain untouched especially in MK, I can deal with it. So, I was going to hold judgement on Star Wars until I actually experienced it. But, if they start completely gutting classic WDW attractions, I just wouldn't be able to bring myself to go again. This includes CBJ.
