Just checked the DVC members website, and our waitlist for 4 nights at the Boardwalk starting Easter Sunday just came through!!:cool1: We are staying 7 nights at our home resort AKV before that, and then switching to the Boardwalk for the last 4. We've never stayed there before, so anyone who has any great tips, suggestions, etc., if you don't mind passing them on, I would be greatful!

You will love it!

Since you are doing a split stay...save some of your Epcot touring for your Boardwalk days.

We also enjoy spending time strolling around Crescent Lake, and spending time at Y&BC restaraunts. Don't forget the miniature golf next to the Swan & Dolphin.

Coming back from DHS, you may want to get off the boat at the S&D.

Hi guys...

I'm staying at BWV next month for the first time. I have a dumb question... I know you can walk to Epcot and boat to Hollywood Studios and monorail to MK. But are there buses to MK as well? If MK is open late, how would you get back? If HS is open late does everyone wait on the boat? My ressie says garden/pool view so I have no idea what to expect.

Thanks in advance.

Unless you are already in Epcot...or really, really enjoy walking an extra mile or two...then you are much better off to take the bus to the Magic Kingdom.

There are busses to MK, AK, DTD, and the water parks.

You will have to share busses with Y&BC and/or S&D sometimes. Sometimes that is ok and well sometimes its a pain. My experience is that if I'm leaving Boardwalk in a hurry to make an ADR...then we stop at every one of those hotels. Arrggh!

Good to know! So if we are trying to make an ADR take a cab for quickness? Or plan to leave from a park to head to the resort?

The boats from DHS & Epcot run until 1 hour after closing time. You can also walk from either. The best way from MK is the bus.

Garden/pool views face either the main pool, quiet pool or the Swan. There are also some studios that face the Village Green, which is the lawn area between the Inn and the Villas and have a partial boardwalk view.

I'm too cheap to take a cab.

As I remembered, It really doesn't take that long. I just remember biting my lip as we made all of those stops, but lo and behold...made our adrs. Give yourself a few extra minutes and you'll be fine.

However, ask me how I feel about going from AK to WL to MK? Why oh why did I insist on going back to the room to get a jacket. It took 2 1/2 hours. Arrggh!

If HS is open late you can always walk back to BWV. It's only about 15 minutes. The lines at the boat tend to be long at the end of the day. It's a bit longer walk than from EPCOT to BWV.

The monorail is a LONG walk through Epcot. Although we often take the monorail back from the MK, we almost always bus to the MK. For one thing, you can't get through Epcot to the monorail when Epcot is closed - like in the morning to make it to MK by rope drop.

We find the Bellevue Room (the BW Lounge) to be charming. Find the rose garden on the inn side - especially if the roses are in bloom. Sitting out on the BW porch off the lobby in rockers early in the morning watching the World wake up (or in the afternoon, watching people come back from the parks) is a nice time. Walk over to the Y&BC and stick your toes in the sand.

You have plenty of wonderful restaurants to choose from for your last four nights without having to take a bus anywhere. Make all your ADRs for those nights in the "neighborhood", ie Boardwalk, Beach Club, Swan Dolphin, Epcot, or the Studios. And as someone else said, do most of your Epcot and Studios touring the last 4 or 5 days. I find the bus transportation to be a hassle from BW/BC, so I just stay put and I'm perfectly happy!

Don't know if you are taking a car, but if you are, find a parking spot and leave it there. Valet is expensive and your best shot at finding a self park spot is in the morning when you check in.

(I just posted this on another BW thread so I just cut and pasted to this one!)

If you are used to staying at AKV the location of BWV can really spoil you. We really like Epcot and it is an easy stroll to the International gate. I enjoy getting up early and strolling around a bit and grabbing something for breakfast at Boardwalk bakery. We've really enjoy meals at Big River Brewery and ESPN Club and if you like high end restaurants there are plenty to choose from in the near vicinity. Flying Fish, Yachtsman Steakhouse, Kouzzina, Todd English's Bluezoo and all the restaurants at Epcot are all within walking distance. The atmosphere at night on the BW is super, street performers and it is a gorgeous sight across the water. My only regret in purchasing DVC was not knowing I could have purchased here!

Here are some of our tried and true BW tips:

* take pics when members of your party are shooting through the clowns mouth -- great shots of feet and spray -- we love to guess "who's feet"!!

* pick up some treats at the bakery in the evening to avoid morning rush

* take time to relax and people watch

* check out fire/smores/movie on Beach Club beach...great for kids to run around and
make quick friends w/other kids and grown ups can relax!

* be prepared...you will love it here

I'm very ashamed to admit this...we've been know to quietly make noises when kids exit the pool through the clowns mouth.:scared1:

My waitlist came through too!:cool1: This is the first time ever!

I did do it differently this time. We are staying 8 nights total at BWV BV. When I first booked at 7 months, there were only 6 of those days available with a BV. The lady with MS suggested that I book the 6 days at BV and waitlist for the other 2. I was a little unsure to do this, because my husband hates to move rooms like that, but she was correct in guiding me that way! My waitlist came through a couple of weeks later!

I usually waitlist for the entire stay and it has never come through before, so I am so glad I took her advice!:goodvibes
