I don't know about anyone else, but other than Friday morning I had a blast.
Anyway, Friday morning I got up early to wait in line to register. Lucky me I'm first in line and get to meet the other Ashley (madpinkitty) from the dizpins boards. After waiting in line there (this line wasn't bad, esp. since I was first), I waited in line to get in the park. From one line to another, I headed to breakfast to wait in line (had to march across the park). Food was so-so. I saw many boas and at least waved to most. I was going to catch up with Sharon (3kids4me), but with the crowds, there was no way. Headed to wait at Innoventions for our LE's.. it was already hot by the time we got in line. They originally wouldn't let you in to the logo store without going through the queue to get in to Innoventions. After a while, they let you go to one without the other. So my mom and I swapped out going to the logo store and waiting in line for our LE's. After 2 hours in the LE line, we decided we didn't want them that bad and headed to MK.
We eventually met up with Jeff, Laureen, Matt, Shawn (bekeating's DH), and a few others. It was funny listening to everyone talk like a pirate while on the Pirate ride.. the wave durnig the batttle was humourous as well.
From there I headed out with my mom and Shawn over to Space Mountain. Thanks for riding with me, Shawn!
It was Buzz Lightyear and TeaCup time after that. My mom and I headed back to the hotel to get our pins & dinner before going out trading, but ended up just staying in for the night. Hope everyone had a blast at either the Contemporary or Riverside.
Saturday we got up ready to repeat at least part of the experience from Friday. Found out that they'd set up "the longest queue line ever" for our LE pin sales, and had gone from 12 registers to 26 to help us get our pins. We stood in line with James (DizneyNut) and waited only 45 minutes Saturday. A MAJOR improvement. There was still a line for the logo store, so we passed and went and got our maps stamped instead.
We eventually headed over to the Land to hook up with more folks. Met up with daber and his wife on the walk over. Laureen, Matt, Jeff, June, and some others were already there. Did a bit of trading, had lunch, then headed over to MGM with Lady Tay. HAD to ride RnR.. so we rode it 3 times. The CMs in the lobby of the ride found us funny. We traded with each of them at some point before heading out. I have to say thanks to Jeff & Laureen for the passport idea. It gave me the opportunity to meet some really cool CMs in the park. David out by a cart on the main strip was Hypothetically the funniest cast member we came across.
Bob out by the Information center seemed to really care about the kids that he met. He was impressed by the fact that we were giving him VERY tradable pins (they were DS). Apparently he was very disappointed with a lot of traders out there recently. He was nice enough to give us 2 more "traders" to trade with (with other CMs signing our passbooks).
The "party" Saturday night was a great time. Jeff & Laureen (and all the others who helped) put a lot of work into the prizes (and candy) that were given out. My mom & I both finished our passports and won new GPA2 lanyards. I made several great trades (thanks MadStrawberry & everyone else I traded with).
We decided to be different Sunday, so we didn't go back to EPCOT. We headed to AK instead. I met a great CM named David @ Tusker's. He is a former trader, and a really nice guy.
Anyway, we had a blast and hope everyone else did too. I had a lot of fun meeting up with everyone. I hope for everyone else's sake that Disney learns from Friday and doesn't repeat it again. Personally, I'll pass on registering for another event as the 'perks' of the breakfast/preview/auction weren't really worth it for me in the long run.
