Hi everyone! This is my very first trip report!
We booked our trip through Dreams Unlimited and my agent was Michelle H. (You guys she is just wonderful!)
Cast:
Me Kathy (31) Disney fanatic and obsessive planner
Husband Richard (35) Skeptic about trusting Dreams Unlimited with our travel plans. Loves Disney but hasn't been for 12 years. (Very hard to please by the way)
Daughter Shelley (10) This trip was totally for her birthday celebration (at least that's our grown up excuse when you get "that look" from co-workers) She is wearing an air cast on her leg so we have to rent a wheelchair everyday.
Dates: 10/27/01 through 11/101
Resort: Caribbean Beach, Room 3246, Trinidad North
Package: Discovery Magic
Day 6: Disney Quest and going home
I kept racking my brain to think of something to do for half a day today. I decided to try Disney Quest after breakfast. We had a 9:15am PS at Chef Mickey's so we took the character breakfast bus to the Magic Kingdom. The driver asked if anyone actually was trying to get to Contemporary and the whole bus raised their hands! So, he drove staight to the Contemporary and dropped us off. Due to this, it was only 8:00am and we were super early. When we walked into the lobby, the Character Caravan was there so Shelley got to spend time with Rafiki, Timon, Baloo, and King Louie. We went on upstairs to Chef Mickey and 8:15 and they seated us immediately! Yippee! Good breakfast buffet. Our total was $49.44 (We used our final Magical Wish)
We took the monorail over to the MK so that Shelley could ride Big Thunder Mountain one last time. (She brought her "magical confetti" again today to drop on every ride she came to). When we got into the monorail, Shelley, in what seemed like her loudest voice whines "Mom! It smells like horse pee in here!" Oh my God! I smelled it too and agreed with her totally, but I of course had to be the Mommy and tell her that wasn't polite and to lower her voice. "But it really does Mom and everyone else knows it!" I lost that argument and let it go. I had read the threads about this subject but thought everyone was exaggerating - they weren't.
Shelley rode BTMRR and we left for Downtown Disney. We ended up driving to DD. It was less than a 5 minute drive and you can't miss it! (Thanks to our bus driver for the great directions). Hubby didn't want to go to "another stupid arcade" but soon changed his tune. Disney Quest is totally cool. I love the virtual reality games and again, it was a ghost town in there. There are 5 floors in Disney Quest and we never saw more than 10 other people on each floor!
Sadly, we had to come home. We had a wonderful trip!
