Just got back last night :sad1:, and willing to answer all questions.

Here is my top 10 (good and bad and not in any particular order):

1. It was HOT -- we are from Houston and used to heat (90+) and humidity (100%) but this was HOT with the sun beating down on you ALL day.

2. NEMO - went on EE day and "ran", yes this 40 yo woman ran, and I was the 31st person in line and on the 1st set of subs! We were at the main gate at 630a for the 7a EE and were about 15th in line. IMHO, this is the ONLY way to ride without waiting 2+ hours in a horrible line. When we got off the line was already 1 hour long! We also sat in the viewing room for a show so we could see what that was like -- it was okay, not the same experience.

3. The Crowd?? We have been 3 times, once at Spring Break, the week PRIOR to Christmas and now summer -- we choose the week prior to Christmas as the best time to go. Not that it was THAT crowded -- but there were more people than the week before Christmas but less that Easter/Spring Break week. Oh yeah.... Sunday was "Bat Day" -- there are some "freaky" people in the world that are crying for attention. I am not a "prude" but man... some of the "costumes" were down right skimpy or vulgar -- not what I really wanted my DS6 to see - but with that said, it was a great lesson to explain that every one is an individual and can express them selves differently.

4. Grand California Hotel was worth the money spent. Pinocchio's Workshop (babysitting for the kids at the hotel) was worth every penny too!

5. California Screaming is only meant to be ridden in the FRONT car :scared1: - DH and I had a night alone and rode in the front -- best ride ever!

6. Electrical Light Parade, Fantasmic and the Fireworks - not to be missed. We saw the 9pm show of F!, at 850p we walked up to get in the last row of the front section and stood for the show, when the show ended booked it to the hub and stood behind Walt and Mickey for the Fireworks :sad1:. Got an okay place to see ELP at 815p.

7. Did I mention it was HOT?

8. Closures - River Bell Terrace closed on the 19th -- all boarded up with signs stating that they were bring it back but better. I have pics with the exact verbiage if you want. Confirmed also that the Gallery was closed :sad2: . Also told them at City Hall that that place was "special" and I sure hope that what ever they make it, have it a place that everyone can visit and not an "exclusive" place like and addition to Club 33.

9. We got "dreamed" twice in about 30 minutes! First time @ 9am ish was with lanyards and pins - on the bridge by the Coke refreshment center between Frontier land and Adventure Land. Went to Ride Indiana Jones and then over to HM and got in the elevator the door shut and the CM said we all won Dream Passes!!!!:cool1:~~ No flaming here now... we hardly used them as this was on our last day and we were only hitting OUR highlight rides. DH and I used ours for Space M, IJ, Cali Screamin, and HTH later that night when DS6 was at Pinocchio’s Workshop. Oh well... maybe use them next time??? I know they expire but do they really check?? :confused3

10. Albort!!!!!!! -- I met Albort!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: I found him by accident (not really... I just have to say that) I stopped by what seemed EVERY Churro cart that had a male CM and looked at the name badge -- never Albort :sad2: . But...... while waiting for the ELP I saw this young man holding balloons that looked like he was having a wonderful time -- so I decided to go up and ask him if me knew Albort? But.... Drum roll please..... It WAS ALBORT!!! I won! I won! -- LOL... this was better than getting dreamed!!!! :rotfl2: DH took a picture of us but I promised not to post (or did I???) ;) I saw him again and we had a laugh -- So I got Albort dreamed twice too!

Congratulations on finding Albort and getting dreamed! I agree August is HOT, but not as bad as WDW. Glad you had a good time. :thumbsup2

Welcome home.;)
Thanks for the summation of your trip. Seems like The Grand and meeting Albort were highlights - I agree! What were your favorite dining spots, any memorable meals? We went for a weekend once in late August and I am embarrassed to admit on Sunday is was so hot and crowded we spent most of the day in the hotel.:rolleyes1 . So I understand.

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Those are pics of Albort's dream girl.:goodvibes

Albort is a Disney CM (cast member), and the rumor is you can often find him selling churros somewhere in California Adventure, but not always.....

.....he can be tricky, so you never know where you might run into him while at the parks.;)

We're headed down the end of October/early November, and I'll be on the lookout for him!:thumbsup2

Okay...okay....

Albort is a CM. He is a male. He is in love with Vanessa of HSM hence why he has all of her pics on his signature. He works mostly in CA. That is all I can tell you because I have been sworn to secrecy. :cool2:

Thanks for the TR! We're going in November (taking my parents for their first time to DL, and first time to California, for that matter! ) and staying at the Grand Californian.
Tell me everything about the GC! I'm so excited, I can't wait!
Details, details! :hyper: :hyper:

I like how everyone knows about him. Do you also know his social security number is ........... :rotfl2:

How did I miss that Albort works at DCA mostly? I kept thinking he was selling me churros in NOS, but now I wonder if he was the nice young man that sold my dd the balloon one night just after the Electrical Parade? I am going to have to try harder in January to find him!

Carter's Mommy: Glad you had a great trip!

June 24th, a Sunday!! You (or somebody) suggested and sold her a very pretty green mickey head balloon within a clear balloon thing.
We were sort of near Golden Dreams. Like you're gonna remember this, but that would be too funny if it was you!
