not with the Dolphin but with "stuff" happening here at home. If this thread needs to move, then that's fine. it's just that the Resort Board is my "home board" sort of...the one I visit the most.

I've been dancing and putting out threads all about my upcoming trip this Wednesday. Well, I was in a car accident last night. I'm absolutely okay - just a little stiff but no big deal. My car has damage - it's not totalled but it has significant damage to one side. I'm very depressed because this is my dream car that I finally bought last year. A Saab 93 Convertible. I know it's fixable but I'm just so down in the dumps. Yet glad that noone was hurt. On top of this I've had a cold all week, but I think it's going away finally. Well, and we all know things come in 3's, right? Well, the third thing is I rescued a kitten from the woods about 12 days ago. I found him while I was horsebackriding. He was basically starved to death and had an upper respiratory infection. I've been taking care of him and he seemed to be improving but he took a turn for the worse. The doctor gave another round of medicine but he's just not well. We're not sure he'll make it another 24 hours. I'm trying.

All that said, I'm so depressed that I'm wondering if I should cancel the trip. I haven't brought it up to my DH. He's out of town on business right now and he's being very supportive from afar.

I guess I need and want a little advice from other Disney addicts. Some words of wisdom. Will the pixie dust cheer me up? Or, will I be too depressed to enjoy myself???????????

Thanks for "e-listening."

A trip to WDW is just the thing to get you out of the doldrums. After your recent troubles, you need to have something to look forward to. If you don't go, chances are you will be depressed while staying at home and wondering what might have been.

I'd go, because the trip will get your mind off everything and also give you a chance to relax and have some fun. Sorry about your problems that you've had lately.

Pam, those are really sad and upsetting things to have happen. It is not surprising that you are depressed. However, unless you are prone to deep depressions that tend not to lift on their own, I would strongly recommend that you go on the trip. Chances are your doldrums will lift soon whether you stay or go, and they are likely to lift faster if you keep moving on with your life. The activity could also prove a good distraction. I know it could be very hard to be among happy people in a place where you are <supposed> to feel great yet don't. And perhaps you are worried about wasting money on a trip you can't enjoy. But I think you'll be pleasantly surprised to discover that it is better to be a little depressed there than at home. The car can be fixed, so please don't keep reviewing that problem in your mind. You did a beautiful thing for the kitty, and it is okay to let your heart break about him. If he should die, it would be no disrespect to him for you to go away. Go to Disney, and go with the intent of nurturing yourself rather than having a blast. That's my opinion, offered with good wishes.

PamNC, I witnessed a bicycle rider getting hit by a car this week so I can understand how you're feeling regarding your recent situation. It is definitely unnerving, to say the least. I'm glad you and the others were uninjured. <<Hugs>>

I have no suggestions to offer you, just thought I'd throw a little moral support your way. Hang in there. Things will get better.

You should most definitely go on this trip to offer some relief to this bad luck that you've been going through. It would really lift your mood and if you don't go, you would probably end up more depressed than you are now. Believe me, you will feel a whole lot better. Leave the problems behind for a little while. It sounds like you deserve it.

Hi Pam..first I like to say how sorry I am for everything that has happened. I would be down in the dumps too. But I would still go. A trip to WDW may be just what the doctor ordered :) And the warmer weather would be a nice thing as well. We are practically neighbors...I'm in Kernersville...and I'm sure you've noticed but it's getting cold here :cold:

Pam, I'm so sorry things have been rough this week. I'm sure things will get a lot better.

I really think you should still go on your trip. There's nothing like a walk down Main Street to help you forget your troubles! :sunny:

And then you can give thanks on Thanksgiving for being in one of the happiest places on earth, and that you are fine despite an auto accident. No matter what happens with the kitty, you can know that you did everything possible and that you are a caring and kind person.

And besides.........I'M LEAVING ON TUESDAY, THAT MUST MEAN ALL PAM'S ARE CALLED TO DISNEY NEXT WEEK!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :teeth:
C'mon girl.........Let's go to the "World"!! :grouphug:

Hi Pam,
I'm so sorry you are having such a tough week. The week(s) leading up to a trip to WDW are supposed to be special....thank goodness you weren't hurt in the accident!

Of the 3 things you mentioned you can not control any of them! Your cold will get better, your car will get fixed and you staying in town will not matter one bit on how the kitten does. Life will go on - so let it go on while you are at Disney....sounds like the perfect spoonful of sugar!

BTW - on behalf of animal lovers everywhere thank you, thank you, thank you for helping the kitten. No matter what happens to it you have done a really good thing. So, here's some pixie dust for your new friend! :goodvibes

Have a wonderful trip - I'll be going the week after you and I've been following your trip planning posts!

for the nice replies. I'm almost positive I'm going ahead with the trip. I have to cancel today if I decide not to go. Being as it's 1:41 p.m., it's looking like I don't really want to cancel.

My "cold" got worse so I went to one of those doc-in-a-box places this a.m. and I have a sinus infection. Good news - antibiotics will cure it. So, I'm taking something called Biaxin and I should be as good as new by Wednesday.

The car - well - there is nothing I can do. I can't even "talk" about that.

The kitty - still struggling. But I'm trying.

All in all, I'm still depressed, but not as bad as yesterday. I woke up feeling a little bit better.

I'm thinking Main Street USA might indeed cheer me up.

A special shout out to my neighbor in Kernersville!!! Yes, it's very cold and I don't like it. All the more reason to go to Disney, right?

I'll keep everyone posted. I appreciate all the kind words.
