I wonder if anybody here has experience with My Universal Photos? I am pondering if I should get this, but wonder if it will be worth the money. At the Disney parks, I know that there are enough photographers/ photo opportunities to make this worth my while. As we have not been to Universal since 1998 and Islands of Adventure since 1999, this is a brave new world for me. Are photo opportunities plentiful? We are planning to do two days at Universal and have two park tickets.

If you do not get the replies you need, there are several past threads on this subject

You can find them with the search button

I don't recall all the info about the photo system in the parks as I don't use it

Thanks, I could not find anything before I posted using the search function, but apparently I was looking for the wrong keyword. I have now found some info under Photo Connect by reading through the forum.

When it comes to prices, don't count o. The older threads but ask at UO for current costs for it

Glad you found the various threads
Think there are 3 main ones with info

I managed to find this out via the Universal website. The price looks pretty good if there are plenty of photo opportunities available.

I think I found one of those, but that was very informative.

I bought the photoconnect advance purchase 3-day pass over a year ago, so it was only $59. But I still don't think it is amazing value, we got about 30 photos (but some are repeats as at most characters and landmarks they take three). Also to get the ride photos you have to queue up at the counter and tell them the photo number and show your barcode and get the ride photo added to your account which always felt like it took a long time.

Disney have set up a nice streamlined system with photopass, Universal & Amazing Pictures haven't managed to make it easy to use. But for $59 for the downloads and the two prints, its OK value, just not a simple as Photopass at Disney.

Thanks for your input. I really appreciate it.

I would be happy with 30 photos even if it includes duplicates.

I am used to this set up. I am an annual pass holder at Disneyland Paris and there Photopass works that way. They are nowhere near as high tech as Walt Disney World.

It is now $10 more expensive, but I will still be happy with this if I get at least as many photos as you did.

Of course if you queue up for more characters you will get more photos ;)

We got the on-ride photo for Spider-Man twice and that one is a little pointless as you are wearing 3D glasses.

But the velociraptor encounter is very much worth it!

I am sure character will feature. I am particularly keen on meeting Donkey.

That does seem like an odd photo opportunity.

But the velociraptor encounter is very much worth it!

Thanks for the tip.

We bought ours for january during a black friday sale, so we didn't pay full price. I felt like we definitely got our money's worth.

Thanks. I had not considered that Universal would get involved in a Black Friday sale. We will be there just after Thanksgiving and I am now wondering if I should hold off until Black Friday.

Do black Friday sales show up on facebook? Or if your on the mailing list? ?
