We just got back from 7 days in Costa Rica and I figured I would share the highlights with my Podcast friends. I was there for a meeting so we really only had 3.5 days to ourselves.
We stayed at the JW Marriott in Guanacaste on the Pacific coast. I wrote a separate post about the exceptional service at the hotel. We flew into Liberia which was interesting since none of the buildings had walls just a metal roof. It was about an hours drive to the hotel. As soon as we told the bellman our room number he said we had the best view on the whole hotel. What he neglected to mention was that we had been upgraded to a huge suite. The organization I was representing at the meeting does a lot of business with the travel agency which was coordinating the meeting and this was their way of saying thanks. The suite was huge, and the bathroom was a piece of art. I took pictures to remember for our dream home.
The suite was at the far corner of the hotel and the deck had unobstructed views of the beach and sunset.
We spent a lot of time at the beach and by the pool, but did take a boat tour or Palo Verde National Park where we saw tone of wildlife. I bought a new camera for this trip (Nikon D80) and it was worth every penny.,
We didnt get to the rainforest where we wanted to go ziplining since we only had one full day free. Overall it was a great trip and we will definitely be heading back to spend more time at Arenal volcano and the rainforest.
