airhead( ....are we there yet?????)

Okay airhead its time to wake up.This is Mrs.A. I just got back from the AKL concierge and it is wonderful. We really hated to leave. Ususlly we are on the road by 7am to come home, well not this time. We left at 10:30 it was so hard for us to leave.

You can be going over the AKL FAQ thread and finding out more about it. (You are still staying there?) You will love the place, when you first walk in the lobby you won't know where to look first. Just beautiful.

You will be there before you know it. Have fun.

Yup,we're still staying at AKL for 6 days and then 6 days at the Dolphin! I originally had ressies for AKL concierge, but changed them to standard room. The fact is,we just don't spend that much time at the resorts. Our $$$$ was better spent at Discovery Cove(we're wicked pumped about that day,July 4th!!!!!)
So,let us more about AKL! Did you like the pool? Is there a lounge at AKL that serves "cold beverages" ? We like to return to our hotel at night around 11pm and be able to grab a cold brew before calling it a day. We really are looking forward to our
trip(311 days to go....) . Thank god I can come to this site and talk about it as much as I want, because my SO and friends are SICK OF HEARING ABOUT IT!!!!!!!! LOLOLOL!!!

The pool is nice, it is large it looks like the water is dirty but it is not. It's suppose to look like a watering hole.

I think the lounge is Victoria Falls, it is just above Boma's. Not sure how late they are opened. We were usually in our rooms at that time.

The pool side bar has some really good drinks, can't remember the names of a couple I really liked, but what ever the drink of the day is, get it. It will be good. The African Sunburn is a good one. I have no idea what was in it, DH brought it back to the table for me.

Take at least 1 or 2 days to explore the resort, look for all the details. It is amazing, you won't know where to look first.

You will enjoy it very much. We did not want to leave.:( :(

Hey,thanks for the info on the cocktails!! We will definitely be trying those "Sunburn" drinks!! How many days did you stay there? Was the change in resorts a big hassle? Was it a letdown after staying at AKL? I think I saw that you stayed at the Swan. We'll be staying at the Dolphin the second half of our trip.
I like the idea of being able to walk to Epcot and the Boardwalk!
Also liked the idea that we could use the teacher's rate!!

airhead,

Changing resorts was no hassle for us. We did this on a non park day I packed things up the night before and put some things in the van. We were at the Swan first for 8 nights then AKL for 4 nights.

I really liked the Swan and will stay there again, if I had to choose between the 2 I'd pick AKL. I liked the location of the Swan. Epcot and MGM being so close. We always rode the friendship launch. (it has air conditioning) need I say more?

We arrived at AKL at 12:30 and our room was ready. Stayed there 4 nights. The buses for AKL seemed to take a little longer to arrive. Maybe due to it being so far away. But it was not a problem with us.
