My Thrift Shop/Clearance Disney game!

Found a cute a little book, Wit and Wisdom of Disney, and some Snow White magnetic salt and pepper shakers today while out thrifting! $4.00 total! I know, I'm a weirdo. It's the little (cheap) things That keep me grooving! :dancer:

DH and I went into an antique store and I saw a really old piece, I don't know what you would even call the thing. But it had the original price tag on it , it was around 1.75, yes you read that right. I was doing so much research on it and could not find anything on it.

It was a mickey that lit up. I think it was a mold back then. It worked. I paid 25 for it. At that price I think it must of have been sold when DL first opened. That was an exciting fin

Cool, like I said it showed nothing on the internet. So hopefully they know something.
Alas, she couldn't find anything in her info/books either. Her best guess was a nightlight from the 40's or 50's. I wonder if you sent an email with a pic to Disney Archives if they could tell you anything? Or maybe contact Michael Boling via the DISboards or his email. Maybe he's seen one. I wish I could be more help

You were a big help! No big deal. I may look in disney archives. Thank You once again!

All of the clothes my kids wore in Disney were either clearance steals or thrift shop finds.

Old Navy had an adorable Minnie & Mikey clearance section the other year and I had a blast picking up things for my girls. My middles' (5 & 3) favorite is Minnie.

My latest Goodwill Disney finds:

Glass footed coffee mug with etched Mickey heads - $1
(3) 60th Anniversary luggage tags, new - $1 each
Boxed set of 4 Mickey 60th Anniversary figures, new - $3
Boxed set of 3 Winnie the Pooh Christmas Ornaments from the Bradford Exchange, new - $3
Winnie the Pooh Christmas Bell - $2
Mickey Christmas Bell - $2

I also have a frequent shopper card so I saved 10% of my total purchase.

Cool! I love that place!

I love thrift shopping and going to estate sales but hardly ever find anything Disney. I did some some Disney drinking glasses at the Goodwill once but they were so worn that I didn't buy them.

I had today off and was going to go to a few but then the tile people called and said they could fit us in now instead of waiting for 4 weeks so I went with that - my kitchen tile back splash is finally getting installed and I'm thrilled with how it looks so far. :cool1:

I found a Disney Cruise Line small canvas duffle bag at our local Salvation Army Thrift Store. It still had the Disney Parks tag on it. I paid $6.99 for it. A 2011 link to the Disney store shows it sold for $28.95; and I found it selling on Ebay for $20. I gave the bag to my teen daughter.

After totally ruining my favorite Disney Sweatshirt with ink and then trying to remove it, I found one on ebay...my size, brand new, same one...with shipping 13.01!!!:worship: I even got compliments on this sweatshirt at WDW and have never been able to find another one!! Took me a year, but I was so happy to have my favorite back...
