Maybe it was busier this year. We had overcast skies for almost all the days we were there, kept it in the 80's so that was a good thing. We waited so much longer using our room key for express than last year. More people were in the express lines and sometimes the line did not move! Many times over the people in the express line were ignored while the regular line got on. Granted the regular lines were LONG so maybe they needed to do something about it. I think if you buy or obtain an express pass you should go on before the other people in line. If the express line is too long, too bad. But express was still better than the regular lines so if you don't have a room key card get express passes or you will wait a long time.

We really didn't have a problem with the new FOTL rules. If you go around riding everything, seeing the shows, it will be 3:00 before you know it.

We found the evenings the lines were so much better. A whole lot better.

Thanks for posting. About what time of day did the express lines become more manageable (like almost walking on)? How about the Mummy......was it a shorter wait in the evenings?:sunny:

I'd say after dinner was better and after 8pm. During the day Mummy took us about 30 minutes on express and the regular line said a wait time of anywhere between 75 to 105 minutes. At night the regular wait time was about 40 minutes. Many people like to hang around The Mummy and around Spiderman. During the day the regular line for Dueling Dragons was 40 minutes at night the regular line was 5 minutes. We had zero wait for Shrek at primetime because not many people are aware that you can go right in with your room card key. Just ask the attendant, no problem. The regular line for Shrek was REALLY long. The 30 minute wait for the Mummy was the longest we waited. On our last day when the sun and heat came out the express for the rapid ride looked longer than the regular line. I think they weren't taking care of the express line fast enough and once a couple of the attendance took notice of the express line it started to move. In the morning my two DD waiting about an hour to go on that flyer ride in Jurassic Park. They also waited a really long time to go down the little flume ride (forgot the name of that one). There are no express for those rides and slow loading so expect a long wait.

We also just returned from six days at Universal. I found the waits were MUCH shorter first thing in the AM. Dueing Dragons was basically empty until after 10:30. The first two hours in the park are great if you don't want to wait. Major rides were a walk on with express. Later in the afternoon things got backed up.

I was there July 10-14 and found Express wasn't even needed until about 10:00. I rode the Mummy 3 times straight one Sunday morning with no wait in the regular line. The place got crowded around 10:00 and Express was needed. The longest Express line I waited in was 15 minutes for the Mummy at around 2:00 one afternoon.

Great information! Sounds like it's still good! I still won't go back with out it.

Thanks again!

So should we do mummy first thing in the morning even with the FOTL?

Maggie

Maggie, I would definitely get there early. One day they opened US at 8:30. I went straight to Mummy and rode 3 times straight without using FOTL. If it's an attraction you think you'll reride, definitely get there and ride early.:D

Sounds great. I was starting to get a little bit worried about the new express pass policy.

I'm so excited!!I leave in a few days!!!:hyper:
