My tacca is germinating!

I am so excited. I planted 15 tacca seed in those seedling pots, faithfully spritzed them every day, put a plastic container over the little pots to simulate a hot house, and one of the seeds is germinating.

Tacca has a reputation for being difficult to grow from seed and can take anwhere from 1-10 months to germinate. It's been almost 2 months now and that one little seedling popped up.

For those of you not familiar with Tacca, it is a very unusual plant, but a beautiful flower.

It's also known as a bat plant and I planted seeds for the black and white tacca.

I'm really excited about my little seedling and I'll keep everyone posted.
