My stupid pre-lit stupid Christmas tree is only 1/2 lit. The checked every stupid light & connection on the stupid tree & give up. I'm just going to unplug the stupid thing & go buy new lights for it. Not to self, never buy a stupid pre-lit stupid Chrsitmas tree again! UGH!

That's exactly the reason I haven't broken down and bought one.

The idea of a pre-lit tree is GREAT, lots less hassle!! But, if something goes wrong, like with yours, then you just have to put regular lights on it anyway.

Sorry you're having to deal with that, I'm sure it must be frustrating. :(

I got 5 years out of the last one, so it was worth it for me. But, yeah, if you have to string lights on it too, then it's a royal pain!

is it possible that the connection is wrong somewhere? my prelit tree has a bunch of different plugs and you need to make sure they are all put together in the right order ( A1 to A2 and B1 to B2) or half the lights dont work...

I'm going to have DH check it out when he gets home, but I have tried everything I can think of. Stupid tree! :lmao:

We bought a lovely pre-lit tree 2 years ago. I love the shape of it because it is tall and slender. Fits perfectly in the space I need to put it. Last year the middle lights wouldn't light up. :furious: So we cut all the lights off the tree and have regular strings of lights to put on it now.

I still love the tree but I will never buy a pre-lit one again.

Woo Hoo! Ran to Walmart & was able to buy lights that matched the pre-lit lights idenitically! You can't even tell that I added them on! :cheer2: Maybe those lights aren't so stupid after all! :lmao:

The one I have, you can't plug in the lights the way they say, or the upper half won't light. I have to use an extension cord and plug the upper plug into it for them to work.

I've resisted buying a pre-lit tree for this very reason!

Youre scaring me!!!!

I bought a pre-lit after years of *wanting one*!!!

BUT - I did get a 160 one, on clearance, after XMas for.... ****drumroll plllllleeeeaaassse****

$16.... WHOOP-WHOOOP-WHOOOOOP! :woohoo:

So I suppose if I only get one year out of it, thats cool!

My wife takes a xanax every year before setting ours up and I try to be out of the house. :rotfl:

We purchased a pre-lit tree about 3 years ago. It did not work. We wrapped it back up, took it back to the store, and got another one. The second one wouldn't work either. We took it back to the store - and bought a regular one. I string lights on it each year. It seems to be less of a hassle for us.

Hi
We bought a pre-lit tree last year at Franks cause they were going out of business. It was about $40.00. I hope the lights work when we set it up this week.

that's why i cutt the lights off of mine and just started putting them bakc on on it everyyear the old fashioned way. yeah.

Hmmm, 5 years here and some of the lights did you out but I bought 2 strings and now its bootyful. :goodvibes

We bought a new pre-lit tree last night - paid $400 for it :scared1:. My husband put it together and one strand was not lit. Oy!!!!!!! He finally found the bad bulb and we replaced it. It's a beautiful tree and it was very easy to put together, but those lights are always a crap shoot!

This is our second pre-lit tree. Our first one lasted many years (we were "cutting edge" when we bought it).

This new tree has a 15 year warranty - we shall see.

I was THISCLOSE to buying a prelit tree this weekend. I set up the tree myself and take it down every year. My dh would do it but he will not be part of putting up a tree the day after Thanksgiving, he rather wait until the first or second week of December. I rather get it up and over with.
Anyway, do you all have the trees that state if one bulb goes out, the rest stay on? That is what I was going to buy but if you are telling me that is what is suppose to happen and they all go out, I may just not purchase since I remember last year reading a similiar thread here about how much everyone hated their pre lit trees.
Please help me before the morning LOL Thanks.

I had the same exact problem with the top part of a martha stewart pre lit tree i bought from k mart last week. I called the manufacturer, and he said instead of me taking back the tree (which was already set up) that he would send me a new top part in the mail in 7 days.
