Does anyone else watch "My Strange Addiction"? I think it's on A&E. They feature people with really weird addictions, like to tanning beds, eating chalk, eating kitchen cleanser, or ventriloquiism (seriously...there was a girl who pretty much wouldn't go anywhere without one of her dummies and insisted that people talk to it). That got me to thinking: I wonder if they'll ever do a DCL/DIS/WDW edition. I know there are a few of us here who might qualify for a cruising addiction, plus plenty of WDW addicts over on the parks board. What the heck, cruising is a lot healthier than eating cleanser!

As soon as I read your title line I thought "Yup, I'm addicted to the cruise."

Seriously, I spent more than 5 weeks on the Magic in 2010, and I'd do it again in a split second if I could afford it.

You know you're in trouble when you answer the phone and the voice on the other end says, "What's the name of that boat you like so much?" OK, I know it's a ship, but.....

I keep hearing from my family that my DCL addiction will be the demise of me someday....I keep saying that it is much better than being addicted to some other things like drugs, booze, spending money on jewelry, fancy cars, etc....I am easy to please...just let me keep booking DCL cruises!!! How does one get addicted to eating kitchen cleanser:confused3:confused3 I mean...one day you decide to try it and you get hooked????:confused3:rotfl2:

That kitchen cleanser one really threw me. She said her mouth waters just smelling it...ugh. She had pretty much destroyed her teeth, and the dental work bill estimate was enough to keep me Disney cruising for a couple of years at least...well, at least if you remove my spa addiction from the equation.

I think this about how one decides to become a proctologist. I can see it now: "Mom, I finally figured out what I really enjoy!" :lmao:

Ah, I feel so normal here. :goodvibes
Dh is not quite the junkie that I am but he is my enabler. He just worked 30 hrs of OT to pay off our next cruise. :lovestruc We both agree there are so many vices others have: drinking, smoking, gambling, strip bars, shopaholics, etc.
DCL is good clean fun together.

I am also officially addicted....but it has just started for my family and I....should I be afraid for our future...LOL

I think I qualify!
Since our first cruise in October, I eat sleep breath DCL...
my "addiction" is pretty serious to the point where I picked up a weekend part time job working at the Disney Store at the Mall of America, just so I can get the discounts on anything disney
am I the only one whos in this deep?

I'm already addicted to cruising and Disney...and in 99 days I know I will be addicted to cruising Disney style. :lovestruc

Hey Kimberlee...I see your going on the same 10nt MR on 4/17. Come over to the meet there's lots of really cool people that we'll be cruising with. :grouphug:

Yes....I am a cruise junkie too....but any cruise ;)

Just look how long I've been a member of the DIS :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::banana::banana:

(I also chew ice - drives my DS18 crazy!)

Happily joining this thread....addicted and proud of it.:cheer2:

Started in 1998 on the maiden doing 1 cruise a year, then increased to 2, now it's either 3 or 4 a year. If I could cruise more often I would. :woohoo:

I figure there are worse addictions(like the ones on the show)..at least with mine, I get to have fun, see the world, make new friends, and meet up with old ones. When I start walking across the gangway, its like going home again!

Cruisin...not the same without Magic, Wonder, a Dream and a Fantasy!

My DH and I need to join! We both love Disney, esp. cruising! He works a lot of OT so we can feed our addiction! I am thankful for him! :)

I think in the past 9 years we have only gone 1 or 2 months without havin a Disney trip or cruise planned! (And we live far away from WDW and DL!)

I want the addiction to cruising :lovestrucand not the addiction to dreaming about cruising.:rotfl:

My husband thinks 2 cruises a year is too much and since I can squeeze 4 weeks vacation , I think I need to go more than 2x's.

Back in 2004, my parents both quit smoking to fund their cruising addiction. They said the $$ they spent on cigarettes was equivalent to 2 cruises per year.

I am sooo glad they did! :goodvibes

Hmmm, maybe it's a gene I inherited. Yeah, yeah, that's it!

You can never predict who will get the addiction. I always wanted to cruise, but Tony had NO interest. He only agreed to the Magic because of the Disney brand. Now I'd say he's worse than me, considering that he insisted on a last minute cruise for his b-day one year and made ne book a last minute "goodbye Wonder" cruise when we had to cancel Panama for the Dream christening. At least we've very compatible!

Funny you brought this up, my DH told me just last night that he was going to write in about my DCL obsession (I had to explain to him that I wouldn't be picked because there are soooo many others with a worse habit then me lol):dance3:

I wish we had one closer to us,I'd do the same thing! And I also have Tink tattooed on my calf. DH has Grumpy on his arm.

omg! My sil is not a huge Disney parks fan but does have Pooh holding a balloon on her calf and Tink on the back of her shoulder.
