MY Stitch's great escape experience...

We liked it (except for the smell!!! YUCK!!) We just know now when to plug our noses. We went on this ride in Sept and at that time we had NEVER seen Lilo and Stich or any of the Lilo & Stitch TV series but after we went on that we couldn't get enough of Stitch. That is my DH's favorite character.

I haven't gone on Stitch yet...a few questions...

Are you in total darkness at all like you were in AE?
GOing to have a couple small kids with me, and don't know how scarey this will be for them?

i like stitch's great escape. i don't know why so many people don't like the ride. i think it's cute. i like it much better than the alien exterrorestrial ride that it was before.

We are going in January and might have skipped Stitch, but now, thanks to this thread, DS 12 and I are definitely trying it out. Especially since Buzz will be closed when we are there!!!

If you had ever had the chance to ride the adrenaline rushing intense experience that Exterrorestrial alien encounters was you would think that Stich was nothing more than filler.

I absolutly loved alien encounters.. i was upset to see the that teh new stitch attraction was just a retrofit of it and took the attraction away.

But honestly disney shoudl consider building it in MGM where it would better be fit (alien encounters that is) since disney has legal rights to use the FOX alien.

I've heard so much about the original, I would love 2 c it at MGM! I also think it would fit much better there.

I also think Stitch has gotten a bad rap. We thought it was cute, and the animatronics were very well done.

Is is appropiate for a 6 year old. I think my flashbacks to AE is making me think Stitch is much scarier than it is.

I stand by my dislke. I didn't like AE. I didn't like Stitch. I think both are one-timers. I will never do Stitch again. I would much rather have them close Stitch and re-open Timekeeper which is a much more enjoyable attraction and something that is family-friendly. I really worry about the trend at Disney World toward family-unfriendly attractions/thrill rides.

We just got back yesterday.... I dont know how much weight to give to what I heard, but a CM at The CAROSEL/O/P said they were re-assembling TimeKeeper as a ride at EPCOT. Dont know, but I hope he was right.

Also, we had four kids on STITCH/ESCAPE, and they all thot it was Fun-eee.

later,

Hakuna Matata...
:hyper:

I liked it too, but 1) I had never been on AE, and 2) I held my breath when I sensed the chili dog smell was coming. That probably helped.

The smell doesn't bother me at all.

I just think it is the most boring, dumb thing in any theme park anywhere.

But I do like Stitch the character.
:flower:

DD8 and DFiance loved Stitch. I didn't think it was nearly as bad as it was made out to be, and thought it was an improvement over AE. IMHO, AE is was just dead boring. At least Stitch's Great Escape makes an attempt to be cute and funny. :confused3

we skipped it last trip due to having a little one. But I think I am taking our older dd on it just the two of us. I didn't care for alien encounter but I love stitch so we'll try it.

I think if I had not done AE several times years ago, I might have enjoyed Stitch a little more....I liked having the crap scared out of me the first time on AE with my kids! Stitch was just boring..... :confused3 But, that's JMO

I feel the same! I was just very disappointed With the Stitch ride after doing AE. To me it seemed as if they took out the alien and put in Stitch.

I hated it and it had nothing to do with the smell....I felt so uncomfortable and hated it, when the light got switched off...also I hated the feeling that I couldn't get up, because of the harness....
Never again!

Sorry for the dumb question, but what's all this about a smelly Disney ride? Is this for real? We'll be heading down on Thursday and plan to do MK on Friday and Stitch was on the list...

If it smells, why doesn't Disney fix it ... or is it part of the show?

It's part of the show! Your question just made my day!

Ha... thanks for the answer....I kept thinking to myself "you'd think a billion dollar company could by an air freshener"....

Stitch made me giggle, until the smell, which almost triggered a migraine. But that is just me. I won't sit through it again for that reason only, but I can't keep my 9 yr. old DS away from it! :flower:
