The girl we thought DD-I-L was having, is going to be a boy!!! She had another ultrasound today and it definately showed a boy! She got a lot of pink stuff at her shower 2 weeks ago. I got them alot of pink so I guess I'll be exchanging it for blue this week-end! They were so sure they were having a girl that they haven't even discussed boys names so I guess they better get busy!!!:jester:

I know it's a shock now, but you will laugh about it some day soon. My sister was told with BOTH of her children (and 2 sonograms with the second) that she was having a girl. Guess what? Two boys!

At least you found out now instead at delivery - congrats

Maybe you should wait until the baby is born to return things, just in case their wrong again.:jester: Congrats!

What a shock! I like the good old days where you didn't know until the baby was born. :)
Wishing her a continued happy, healthy pregnancy!

I preferred not to know, even tho my OB/GYN said he could "clearly see" what the gender was. What a wonderful surprise after all that pain & pushing!

Well, no matter ~ girl or boy, I'm sure you'll love it all the same, right??

Time to go back to the store for some Tonka trucks:D

The nice thing is I kept all of oldest DS's better baby clothes. They are in excellent condition!!! They are 30 years old and now his DS will be wearing his dad's hand me downs!;) I also have a ton of baby furniture from youngest DS (all in blue!), to use at my house for when the grandson visits, and Little Tykes toys; a big slide, the turtle sandbox, the mini van, and basketball hoop. I am really into saving my Christmas decorations and baby stuff. I'm so glad I held onto the baby stuff now!

Reminds me of the story of the OB that had a perfect record in telling his patients the sex of the baby they were having. [in the days before ultrasound] Almost all his patients would ask him at some point in the pregnency "Am I having a boy or a girl".
He would say "It's a boy" or "It's a girl" [whatever he felt like saying at the time]. Then he would write the opposite in the woman's chart
Of course if the woman had what he said she would think "What a great doctor I have."
If she didn't have what he said she would of course complain to the doctor. He would ask her if she was sure that he had said the baby was going to be the opposite sex of what it was. Since he had so many patients he couldn't remember for sure what he had said to her.........but wait I always write it down in the charts, let's check it out.

LOL. That's funny, Philaround!
I have a really strange story: When I was pregnant with my second child I worked in a hospital, and right next to my department was a dental clinic. One of the dentists there was known for prediciting a baby's sex : by looking in the mother's mouth! My friends begged me to go let him look in my mouth, so I finally agreed just to get them to stop bugging me. He looked for about 2 minutes, then said "It looks to me like you're having a girl". I did, 4 months later. No big deal I know, 50/50 chance, but he had made predictions for about 5 other women in my department, and was right every time. He was keeping track of his "stats" and said he had roughly a 90% accuracy rate. He never, at least to my knowledge, told anyone what he was looking at, but I wouldn't be surprised to see this in the medical journals some day!

lol....now I know why I buy yellow or mint green!

Here's to a healthy happy baby either way!! :)

I think that it's neat that you have some of your DS's clothes to pass down to him for his son. My mom did the same thing. One of the outfits that she saved was one that I wore in a photo that was taken when I was 2yo. When our DS James was 2yo, we dressed him in the same clothes and had a photographer take the same picture of him.

You might want to hold on to those pink items. Who knows. Maybe the next grandchild will be a DGD. :)
