My sons orders are extended.........

My sons orders have been extended for 6 months. This means he won't be here when the baby is born. Always something bad going on anymore. He was looking forward to being there, and is really disappointed he isn't going to get to.

That's really too bad. Is this his first? I know how much it means to have the Dad there for the birth. My first grandchild was born while her Daddy was flying in from Germany. He was only a day late, but what can you do. Some circumstances are beyond our control.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Is there someone who could videotape the birth? (if the mom is ok with that). It might be the next best thing.
