Well, first of all my son went to an UNBELIEVABLE summer camp, SciTrek, which I always say, was like going to EPCOT for camp! A science museum, it gives kids a fun and inventive way to learn about science and keep their brains going during the brain dead days of summer. It cost me a FORTUNE but it was more than worth every dime!

Six Flags... Ugh...

For some STUPID reason I thought Barry Hom was coming into town last weekend and we would be going to Six Flags. Of course, since Michael thinks Barry Hung the Moon... ... he was soooo excited. Well, Barry reminds me that he's not coming down until SEPTEMBER... oooops .... so with FOOT IN MOUTH I have to tell Michael the bad news.

And do you know what he said????

"Well, Mommy, that's okay. We can't fault Barry because he always does such nice things for us, he always takes good care of us when we go to Florida, he always sends us cool videos and Spiderman toys... I'll just wait until September!"

What Nine Year old says that?????

I got to work and got to work on getting that boy to Six Flags Now!

I got a hotel on Priceline for $25 a night and we're going like a trip (even though it's only 20 mins away!). We'll leave after the weekend because on the weekends we have to go visit my parents in the hospital which he does without a complaint every weekend since the summer began.

School starts August 12th and he deserves to go back with a smile on his face!

I went to 6 Flags over Georgia last Sunday. I passed under the Buckhead bridge thing and thought of you Robin.:)

Your son sounds like a level headed, intelligent, sweet little boy.:)

I bet you 2 have lots of nice adventures.:) You're a great mom.:)

What a great mom you are, Robin! And how skilled at getting Priceline hotels! :D

Robin, let out an extra loud scream for me as you're going down that first drop on the Georgia Cyclone. :teeth:

And I bet Michael had a ball at that SciTrek summer camp. I'm jealous of the little guy. :)

You have such a special boy, Robin. :) Have a great time at Six Flags!

Thanks, guys!

Sometimes we have to reminded that childhood is only for a few short years! My parents worked so hard to make mine memorable, it's the least I could do!

Yes, Rajah, he IS special and with all I put him thru this is a very small gesture...

Nancy! I wonder who I learned all that Priceline stuff from??? I got a great little suite with a fridge and microwave for $25 a night! It's close to home but at least I don't have to worry about the dishes!

Shannon, I RARELY go to 6 Flags but if you have a 9yo boy in Georgia it's hard to not go! Did you have a nice trip?

...and Matthew, I make a beeline to the Ga Cyclone because it reminds me of the one in Coney Island! It's my favorite coaster in 6 flags! You will probably hear me from where you are!

We've only taken the kids a couple of times. My kids had a ball.:) This is the first year my 9 yo dd actually ran up to the rides willingly (she's a fraidy cat:p ). I've gotten her addicted to the Mine Train though. I'm hoping to convince her to try Acrophobia or Superman sometime.:p My ds's favorite thing about going there is shaking Bugs, Daffy, Taz, and this guy:

We had fun, but I'd love to take a solo trip sometime and ride all my rides.:p My SO is a fraidy cat too.

I hope you, Michael and Barry have fun next month.:) Be sure to post some pics.:)

Of course Barry and Michael will have a great time... they're the SAME AGE! :p

From your descriptions of Michael, I would think that perhaps he may act as though he's the OLDER one in that twosome. :)

What a great mom, you are Robin!!!!

By the way, that camp sounds pretty cool!:D

DS got back about two weeks ago from taking his youth group there and to White Water. He said it was so HOT!!!! Have fun!

Sniff...I feel so touched! :)

I hope you ride Superman: Ultimate Flight at SFOG. I heard it's great!

BTW, if you go and want to come back in September, get a season pass. I think it costs $65, but a one day ticket costs like $40. It pays for itself in 2 visits (or so the ads say :) ).

Robin that sounds like so much fun. I can't believe you got a room for only $25/night, wow!
