Luckily no one was seriosly injured, but he was leaving school when he wasn't supposed to with other kids in the car (he has a junior license with restrictions) The worst part is he doesn't understand that what he was doing was wrong:( , and he told me he can't wait to move out of the house so he doesn't have to follow "our rules". Not only that but it's his birthday tomorrow:( I'm ready to cry:(

Oh, I know exactly how you feel. My dd just turned 18 today.

I hate it when I click on reply before I'm done.

Yes, I'm glad he's ok too. {{{hugs}}}

I'm sorry to hear about the accident. I'm glad your son is okay as well as everyone else involved. Was this a 2 car accident? I have two boys and although they are still young (6,3) I know I will have to face these hard situations with them eventually. I hope things work out for you all and I hope you get to feeling better.

The only way he would have truly known he blew it was if someone had been badly hurt so we'll just thank God that he didn't have to learn his lesson that way. I'll bet though that he was more shook up by what happened than he is letting on. It was a pretty embarrassing for him to have the accident and I am sure he won't want to suffer that indignity again. Looks like the only one who was really hurt was mom -- thank goodness for mom! He'll understand that one day, just be patient.

Sorry about your car and your ds Jean. Its so difficult sometimes getting kids to understand the rules and why they are the rules. Feel better knowing it happens to all of us. I hope you do have a great birthday and that your will figure it all out.

I am glad that he is okay and hope everything works out. I can't tell you how many times I said as a teenager I could not wait to move out. I stayed home until I was married at 27:D

:( Sorry to hear that you're going through a tough time, but still glad to hear nobody was hurt. Try to remember that he's a teenager and will probably one day regret all that he said. Keep your chin up.:D

tell him he anit to old to get mama to spank his butt

I'm glad your son is OK. It's too bad that he doesn't realize that what he did was wrong. Did you see the story about the teen driver who was driving with a junior license here in MA last week? That teen wasn't as lucky as your son--someone in her car didn't make it. Maybe your son should read the stories about that accident.

It was very slippery in MA early this morning.:( I'm glad he's ok...as for the rest, he may just be going through a rebellious phase. Hang in there, Kteacher.:)

I'm glad he's okay. The only thing my sister's son understands when he does something along these lines is that the car keys DISAPPEAR! They're taken away from him! Cramps his dating style, shopping, etc. ;)

So sorry to hear of your son's accident..... a Thank you God... since no one was injured...albeit your son's pride.

I think he DOES know he was wrong and is using his bravado to cover up..... jmho.... ah to be young again.....

Hope all goes better for you

Thanks everyone. My biggest fear is what happened to those kids here in Ma. :( My son still has that "nothing like that will ever happen to me " mentality. Someone wake me up when he's over this, say, when he's in his 30's or 40's:rolleyes:

I'm glad he is OK. Kids just don't understand some times.:(

I am glad he is OK.

Remember that this is typical at his age. Emerging into adulthood, want to control their own lives, it is a phase just like every other one that you have managed for the past 18 years.

Just say I love you and will always be here for you!

Sorry to hear about all that is going on, Kteacher. My son who is 21 still lives at home, not by choice but by nessesity, like he sezs he can't afford to go out on his own , go to college and do and buy the things he likes, so yes he does go by my rules but took all these yrs to get him to that point. How old is your son? I remeber being young and thinking my parents were horrible, untill I was in my 30s and my daughters friends got in a very bad accident, I then told my parents thank you for not letting me do all the things I wanted to.
