My son wants to be Darth Vader...

He is 5 and has never seen Start Wars so I have no idea where he got Darth Vader from. But, I am having a really hard time finding a decent costume! They all have these helmets that look so uncomfortable and I doubt he will even wear it. Anyone know of good Darth Vader costume?

Around here I've seen DV at Target and Party City. I didn't get a good look at the actual costumes though. My DS is still too little to request what he wants to be

They have decent ones at Walmart. My son was 3 when he decided to be Darth Vader. He never saw the movies either. If your son is in school, that is probably where he got the idea from. I have been surprised at the stuff my kid hears from the kids at school! My boy has seen all the movies since then. We did movie night every Thursday at my dad's for six weeks straight to watch all 6 episodes on his big screen. The only reason why I actually let him is because Dh and my dad convinced me that Adam is a "big boy" and can handle them(he was 4). They weren't as bad as I thought they would be and he watches them over and over again.

My son is going to be Darth Vadar for the 2nd time this year (the costume from 3 years ago no longer fits). He's 13 and pretty tall so we had to shop in the adult section. We found a good costume at Target for $30. Most of them do come with helmets but for smaller kids you can find one with a mask that just covers the face.

At Target, in the Toys section (by the Star Wars stuff) we found a decent Darth Vader w/ a front mask and band that goes around the head. Included a voice changer too. It is for sizes 4-8. Even after Halloween, my son uses it to dress up around the house and play.

We bought this one at Kolhs. I also saw them at Walmart and Target for about $20. Interesting thing though, we bought one at Walmart and returned it because it was slightly too small for my 5 yr old (it was labeled size 6x...ds is tall for his age, and slender so I thought it would fit). The Kohls version (same brand name) looked the same, but was size 5-7 iirc...and ds has some room to grow in it.
