My Son Loves Halloween...5/5 3 updates! Main Street, castle, statue photos

Hey Fellow Rhodies-
I love reading about your adventures together! My son is also JACOB and I would love to take him on a Mommy/Son trip!

Hi Kathleen and Jacob! I finally got caught up in your trip report. I love all your pictures. Especially the ones of HalloWishes! They turned out great!!

I can't wait to read the next update!

My mom got one and she got a mickey kitchen batter scraper tool thing

Nice pictures. I love the oldies! Thanks for sharing.

I have Chef Mickey, too,
but no kitchen batter scraper tool thing. :)

Hi :wave2: Kathleen & Jacob,

First I wanted to tell Kathleen, that's my name too but everybody calls me Kat. :)

Second I am so loving your TR. My DH and I are huge Halloween fans as well, so much so that we had a Halloween themed wedding this last October, it was actually on Halloween day.

Your pictures are great and I love hearing about MNSSHP because we are planning our next trip in 2010 around that and we will be there for our second anniversary. :cool1:

I'm anxiously awaiting your next installment, keep up the great work guys. :goodvibes

I just had to catch up on a couple of pages of my own trip report. :sad2:
Thank you Jacob for the updates and all your responses!

And Welcome!!! to all the new readers!
Its exciting to see some new readers!

Basketball season just ended for the kids, so hopefully we will have a bit more time!

Hannah celebrated her 11th Birthday this month!
Of course she received a couple of Disney gifts....

Jacob gave her the original 101 Dalmations. She had never seen it. We all enjoyed watching it. Those puppies are so cute!
hbday1102.jpg

A friend of mine gave her this Cinderella pillow.
hbday1103.jpg

We celebrated all the Feb bdays in the family at my Aunt's house. My Aunt, 2 of my cousins, Hannah and I all have bdays in Feb. It was a lot of fun to see everyone.
Jacob took this picture which I really thought came out cool looking.
hbday1104.jpg

The kids had school vacation last week, so one day we went to American Girl in Boston (actually Natick) with my Mom and my Aunt. The store opened in Nov and this was our first visit. Not as big as the NYC store, but a good size. We had a lot of fun! We couldn't get reservations for the Bistro, so we ended up at the Cheesecake Factory next door. With all the kids out of school, it was packed!!! Hannah spent all her bday money, plus my Mom and Aunt bought her a few things. She brought Nikki to get her hair done at the salon. While we were there we stopped in the Lego store for Jacob, and both kids went to build a bear and stuffed and elephant and a monkey. This was my first trip to Build a bear and it was so cute! Hannah had been before with a friend, so she knew what to do.

back to the tr.....here are a couple of comments to Jacob's updates...

I thought I posted this before the Chef Mickey updates, but I didn't. :confused3
I had taken these pictures of Jacob at the Holiday display:

dtdk16.jpg

dtdk17.jpg

dtdk18.jpg

We headed to the DTD bus stop around 1:05 and waited and waited for the bus to the Contemporary resort. The other bus at that stop came three times before a contemporary bus arrived. Then the bus made another pick up on the other side of DTD and stopped at a water park before going to the Contemporary. I was getting a little nervous, because we had the last lunch time slot! We arrived at Chef Mickey's at 2:01 for our 2:00 ADR!

Our Chef Mickey Photopass picture.

I can't see this photo in Jacob's update, so I will repost it here:

Mt Mom's food:
chefm08.jpg

I also had salad, and ice cream!!!
Everything was pretty good, but the ravioli was a little cold.

One of my chicken nuggets was kind of shaped like a mickey.
chefm06.jpg

I think we have reached the point where we see Hidden Mickey's everywhere we look. :rolleyes1

When Goofy came I was already. I was wearing the Goofy Chef Mickey shirt I made and I had a plush goofy key chain. Goofy loved it.
chefm19.jpg
After that

After that Goofy was trying to convince a nearby CM to let us have a picture with Minnie and Goofy together. The CM said that they weren't allowed to do that and she would get in trouble. Goofy then tried to convince her by saying he would take the blame. Unfortunately we couldn't.

Goofy was so excited to see Jacob's shirt!!!
I really wasn't shirt how the shirts were going to come out.
I printed and ironed them on the night before we left.
Jacob has worn his a few times, and even after the washings it still looks good.

Goofy loved the shirt and gave Jacob tons of attention.
Someone came up to me in the Gift shop afterwards and asked about the shirts. I said he had made them, and she said "oh that's why they were making such a big deal out of him."

This looked like on awesome pool! I would love to go in it.
contem01.jpg

Jacob saw the pool and asked what we had to do to stay here.
Um...pay a lot more money...
It would have been nice to be so close to MK since we spent so much time there, we were there an early morning and 3 late nights. I priced it out but it was a bit over the budget.

Halloween stuff we wish we’d bought:hmghost:
contem08.jpg

This was a goofy shirt
contem11.jpg

I was thinking about the candy dish and Mickey trick or treat basket on Halloween. And I was thinking about that Goofy sweatshirt when I was Christmas shopping.

My mom said ahead of time that we had to get a plush Chef Mickey::MickeyMo

contem14.jpg

I saw Chef Mickey in Feb when we were leaving the gift shop after buying autograph books on our way into Chef Mickey's and he was at the very top of my shopping list this trip!!! If I bought one thing this trip it was going to be Chef Mickey. He has been sitting on top of my dresser since he arrived here in RI. And the "mickey kitchen batter scraper tool thing" is also sometimes called a spatula.

Jacob has asked me to look through the photos for the next update so I will try to do that...

Next up - what park will Jacob choose to go to???

Great Chef Mickey pictures...makes me really excited to go! We have dinner ADR's for June. :yay:

I love the Jedi Mickey. DH will want that, but we will probably come home with a stuffed Mickey instead. :)

You'll have so much fun at Chef Mickey's!!!!
I love the statues, but they are expensive.
We love the stuffed Mickey's!

Love all the pics, looks like you had a great time at Chef Mickey's. Love the old photos too. Great addition.

Isn't there always stuff you wish you had purchased.

It was really cool to get so much attention from Goofy!
Lots of stuff!

:thumbsup2 Great update. I love all the pictures.

Thanks!

Hi Kathleen!

Subbing to your TR... for many reasons!

1) We just decided to go to WDW for Halloween this year.
2) My name is Kathleen, too. (!)
3) I have a DD(12)....and a DS(10), so I know what you're going thru!
4) What the heck...I can follow along on just one more report, right?

Back to the links....

*Edited to add:

5) My DD loves American Girl dolls, too!

Kathy

Nice to meet other Kathleens - it was my Grandmother's name too.

That reminds me I should add the newer links...:rolleyes1

American Girl is so much fun! I get excited when the catalog comes in the mail. Hannah just loves her dolls!

Great update Jacob! Chef Mickey's looks like so much fun...I'd like to eat there sometime.

Nice pictures. I love the oldies! Thanks for sharing.

I have Chef Mickey, too,
but no kitchen batter scraper tool thing. :)

I love my Chef Mickey!!!! He was #1 on my shopping list. I was searching the store for something small, inexpensive, and useful for my kitchen and when I saw the spatula I knew it was perfect! Its gotten lots of use!

Your wedding sounds cool!
You will have a great time at Disney for Halloween!
I loved MNSSHP and I would like to go back some day!

Happy late birthday Hannah!!

The picture of the candle on the cake is really nice. Good job Jacob!

Sounds like you had fun on your trip. The build a bears (or elephants and monkeys as the case may be!) look really cute!

It was fun! Since we were in Disney for Feb 08 vacation, Jacob kept pointing out where we were each day of the week that year.
We are visiting my Dad in Ft. Lauderdale for April Vacation so we are looking forward to that! And we are counting down of course!

I'm really late to your TR but wanted to jump in too. I love that you took a mom and son special trip. That's so great. :) I love all of your detailed pictures. Chef Mickey's is on our list for our next trip so now I'm really excited.

We are pretty slow at TR writing, so late might be a good thing. :rolleyes1

Chef Mickey's is great, I'm sure you'll have a great time there!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

OK - I knew I needed to update the links in the begining, but I hadn't realized it had been that long! :scared1:
So to anyone trying to use the links to read the tr - sorry about that! They are now up to date!!!

Hey Kathleen! Love the CM pictures. Jacob is so funny. It looks like he had such a great time. I also love that y'all took a special mother/son trip. Such great memories!

Aubrey and I are going on our mother/daughter trip in May. I can't wait! I've been working on my TR too, slowly but surely! I need to wrap it up so I can start on my new PTR:scared1: Then after that I will be writing a TR for that trip! I'll be around here for a while:rotfl: Hope you are doing well!

It was nice to have some one on one time!
Would love to take Hannah some time, but not sure she is as interested.
Guess in four and a half years Jacob will be in college and Hannah in High school and they will have different vacations.
I think I've created a Disney addict in Jacob.
He had to choose a stock for school and follow it. Guess what he chose!
Disney. :goodvibes
He is also doing his history project on Walt.

"The kitchen batter scraper thingie is sometimes called a spatula" :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I liked that! :thumbsup2

I was giving Jacob the choice of which park to go to after lunch.
He changed his mind a couple of times, but finally decided on the Magic Kingdom!
So we walked over. It’s a very short walk!

Jacob really wanted to ride the train, so we headed up to board at main street.
Jacob took lots of photos:

We’d never been to Tom Sawyer Island, and we really wanted to explore it. Since all our other times at the MK were early or late, we figured this would be the only time it was open while we were there.

We had fun exploring the island, the caves, and the fort. I took lots of pictures this time. Jacob was too busy. He became impatient with me several times. There’s lots of great scenery, flowers, and views of the rest of the park. It’s a great place to take photos.

We ended up spending about 40minutes on the island and had a great time!

TSI is one place, the only place in the MK that we have never visited!

I'm so glad you both enjoyed it!

Glad to see you posting again. :goodvibes

Kathy

Great pictures from Tom Sawyer Island! (Especially that one of the BTMRR train!!)

I might have to stop by there next time I go.

TSI looked really good fun - we'll need to check it out as we've missed it the last couple of trips! The BTMRR photo was worth the wait!
Impatient child??? Never heard of that occurence before ;)
