My Son Loves Halloween...5/5 3 updates! Main Street, castle, statue photos

Great pictures from Disney on Ice!

Sometimes I want kids so I can go to this stuff and have an excuse! :lmao:

Love the pics of Disney on Ice. We made it to the Incredibles ones a couple of years ago.

Thanks! We haven't seen that one.

The ice show looked great! Thanks for sharing your pics. :)

Thanks!

Fantastic pictures!!!!!!
What was the name of the show? We tend to get them over here a year or so after you.
We've seen The Incredibles on Ice last year, and have tickets for HSM on ice before Christmas.
I agree, its good for the kids to see what they could do on ice if they keep learning. Heather was learning how to do a 'waltz jump' today.... .....no spectacular falls.......yet!

Thanks! It was called "Worlds of Fantasy".

I kept pointing out that they were doing backwards crossovers because she hates those. :rolleyes1 I pointed out a few things she had done the day before. I think Stars on Ice is going to be on a weekend for us this year, and am hoping to go to that.

Thanks! Before I know it mine will be too old.
There was mostly really little kids there. :rolleyes1
I don't think Jacob will ever outgrow Dinsey World though, so that's good! :yay:

I am still waiting for Jacob to work on the trip report. Got him to choose his photos to use though!

In the meantime here are a few photos from the second half of Disney on Ice. Based on the Tinkerbelle movie that's coming out soon - straight to DVD. Hannah had read some of the books, so she was familiar with the characters.

At the very end Mickey said see you real soon!!! Which made Jacob and I very happy because we knew we really would.

Hi Kathleen,
You can tell Hannah that Heather feels just the same, but to just keep persevering! Heather's only recently got the hang of the backward crossovers, it's the 'mohawks' that she's finding difficult now! Oh yes, and the 'waltz jump'! :scared1:
:rotfl: :rotfl: Jacob's face!!!!:lmao: :lmao: Oh, you can tell he loved the fairies!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

The crossovers do look hard. She is not "jumping" yet. More hopping. I think they call them toe hops or toe jumps. I'll have to wait to find out what a mohawk is.

Its great to see when they suddenly get comfortable doing something! She is now in the first level of the mid-intermediate/advanced time slot, so the advanced skaters are there too, and its neat to watch them.

:lmao: I love the pictures of Hannah and Jacob watching the fairies!

There expressions were funny! Jacob did really enjoy the cars though. It's hard to take pictures of a person sitting next to you, they're too close to fit on the screen.

Love the pic of Jacob sleeping during the fairies. That would be my Jacob and DH, actually they probably would have seen this as the perfect time for a break.

Loved your Disney on Ice pictures! Looking forward to hearing more about your trip!

I am loving the report. Your pictures are great. You are quite the photographer:thumbsup2 I wish something like that would come to our town. We never get any of the good stuff, although, I am going to see New Kids On The Block next weekend I can hardly wait. I feel like I'm reliving 8th grade!

Can't wait to hear more about your trip!

From what I can gather - a mohawk is when they start in one direction on 1 foot, and then quickly change to the opposite foot and direction!!???? Very tricky anyway.
But it is great to see the more advanced skaters and what they can do.

Hopefully we will get started on the trip report this afternoon. No school tomorrow!!! So we can do some work on it then too. I've shifted my hours around to have tomorrow off!!! Hannah's got a sleepover planned for tonight. Hopefully they/I will get some sleep.

When they were young we saw the Princess on ice show. Think that was the last one DH went to. Jacob skipped Beauty and the Beast a few years back, but this time he wanted to see the cars and Lion King. He was glad he went.

Loved your Disney on Ice pictures! Looking forward to hearing more about your trip!

Thanks! And Welcome! I hope we will start today! :rolleyes1

I loved your Disney on Ice Pictures!! It seemed like so much fun.

Thanks! It was!

Thanks! Most of the shows, but not all, hit Providence which is about 35-40 min away. The problem we have is when its one show starting at 7:30 on a school night.

Have fun at the concert!!!

I was working in a record store when they were big! I sold a LOT of their cassette tapes.

Oh, so that's what those are called. :lmao:
I pointed that out to her too, since she had just started them. She is struggling with those. Its funny to watch videos from the first few weeks she started. They were marching and wobbling. Now they glide across the ice.

Hello! I'm all caught up on your trip report. I love the Disney on Ice photos, great job, much better then my photos.

Did you dress up for the Halloween party?

Thanks!

We did dress up, both nights. On Fri 9/26 Jacob was a green skeleton pirate and I wore a blue fairy dress. You would have noticed him if you passed him.

On Sun 9/28 Jacob was Indiana Jones and I was Alice (in Wonderland).

I can't wait to see your Giselle dress photos!!!!

Plan for the day: travel to Orlando, check in at Pop Century, and go to the MK for MNSSHP and dinner at LTT.

I had been up late the night before packing and still getting stuff ready. I wasn’t planning on getting up too early. But the heavy rain on my window woke me around 6am. Probably a good thing because I still had a lot to do. I got right up and got ready so I could finish packing.

The kids came downstairs together around 7am. This was late for Jacob and early for Hannah. They had a little surprise for me!!!

They knew they had some surprises coming, and they wanted one for me too! They had come up with the idea and Hannah had picked these up while at the store with a friend. They gave me this card. With my favorite candy PB cups in Mickey shapes, and a Halloween candy too. I thought it was really sweet of them.

I gave Hannah her WallE shirt and her little Pluto and she loved them. She did wear all her shirts – WallE, fairies, and tie dye while we were gone. And she said she slept with Pluto every night. He went on both her sleepovers with her. She also had a box with a small gift and a pin for each day. Hershey’s kisses were scattered across the box.

When it was time for her to head to school, I got a little emotional. She didn’t. :wave2: She was out to the bus stop early to see her friends. Which was probably good, because it convinced me she’d be fine.

Only one problem in the morning. MNSSHP tickets were on my packing list. I had a dream a few weeks before that we arrived at the party, and didn’t have the tickets. When I went to check for them in my binder, I found they weren’t in there. I paniced at first, then calmed down enough to remember taking them out. I had the binder in the car, and had taken the tickets out for safekeeping. Once I calmed down, I found them right away.

I ran around finishing packing. The plan was to leave at 8:30 after Hannah’s bus. But we weren’t ready until 9am. And neither Jacob nor I had breakfast. I knew I wouldn’t, so I had a croissant in my carry on. Joe was getting impatient because he was dropping us off at the airport then going to work.

We headed off to the airport.

It was pouring, and I was worried our flight might be delayed. Since we were going to the Halloween party and had LTT ADR’s for that night I didn’t want any delays.

I felt better when we checked in and schedules looked ok. We checked one bag but did not send it through to ME. It had the sword for the party. The sword was bigger than the carry on suitcase.

We went through the security. The carry on suitcase went through screening and was pulled for further investigation. The security officer had on his plastic gloves and pulled out his chemical pads. He wiped down the zippers then opened the front compartment. Just my binder in there.

binder.jpg

Next compartment – empty.

Then the main section. At this point I was glad that the sword, gun, and glowsticks were in the checked bag. I couldn’t think what they might be looking for.

The officer reached down into the edge and immediately pulled out the m&m tube, full of quarters and pennies. That was what looked suspicious. :lmao: I have to say he didn’t seem like it was at all unusual to have a Disney binder or a tube of change. :confused3 Guess they see a lot of things.

I had worked hard to clean and shine those pennies so wanted them in the carry on.

We picked up some Dunkin Donuts and sat across from our gate. We had split the croissant in the check in line. Jacob wanted an egg & sausage bagel, a donut, and a hot chocolate. I got a juice and a donut, and he shared a bit of his bagel with me.

Excited to be at the airport!!!!

The weather that morning.

Playing a Star Wars game on his PSP. I took this because he swore “his camera would never leave his wrist.” Where’s his camera??? (He lost a camera last trip)
green03.jpg

Jacob’s surprises. A little Capt. Jack, a new UMD movie to watch on his PSP – Pirates of the Carribean – Curse of the Black Pearl, and some pumpkin ice breaker candy. Capt. Jack was supposed to be a friend for the green skeleton pirate. But Jacob forgot to bring him. :headache:
green04.jpg

We were able to watch our plane arrive. It was cool to see it taxi into the gate. My camera was in my purse, and by the time I pulled it out, the plane was already behind the tunnel. They unloaded the plane, and we were able to board. We were in the A group, and Jacob chose a window seat.

I put my headphones on and listened to my mp3 player. General music for a while, then switched to the Disney songs on there. There are a few. :rolleyes1

Jacob watched his movie for a while, and played around with his toys and camera. He accidentally reformatted his SD card and erased the photos he’d taken so far. So then he took a bunch more.

We arrived in Orlando only about 10 minutes late! And because we left Providence a bit late!

These are all Jacob's photos (except the one of him on the bus).

Waiting to leave the plane:

We picked up our checked bag and headed all the way across the airport to the Magical Express counter. We checked in quickly and with no problems, and lined up for the bus to Pop! It wasn’t long before we loaded onto one of the Cruise line buses.

A bus next to us:

We got to watch the movie.

The driver let us know when we were approaching the sign for Disney. He invited anyone who wanted to take a picture to come up to the front. Jacob was the first one out of his seat, followed by a girl not much younger. One adult went up at the last minute.

Jacob hung out in the movie room with the bags while I checked in.

Our room was ready and in the 70’s building. I asked about our park tickets, and was sent to the concierge line. At least both lines were short. They assured me they were on my room keys already. I let Jacob have charging privileges. I figured he is responsible, and I could send him in line to get something himself. I’m not so sure this would be a good idea in Hannah’s cases. She loves to shop!

popJ03.jpg

We dragged our bags off towards our room. It was HOT!!!!

All I could think as we walked to the room was that there was no way I was putting on a costume in this heat!!!!

Our room:

We were finally at POP!!! Our first time on site. It was fun to see all the theming. We were in the 70's building, and Jacob was a little disappointed because he thought it had the least fun theming. He liked the 50's area.

We had a corner room, on the back side of the big wheel building facing the 80's building (near the potato heads). It was nice and quiet, but I don't think our window got seen as much. I did see one kid stop and look one morning, but we weren't at the room much.

This post has my pictures:

More of the room.

We changed to shorts and I unpacked a bit and got settled while Jacob put some decorations in the window. The window would be an onging process all weekend.
The first set of decorations!
The pumpkin in the center is clip art he found, added color to, and printed out on a window cling.
The little Mickey's are the paint samples we used for a craft project.
We've had Pumpkin Pooh and Mad Scientist Tigger for years. They get company the next day.

We wanted to explore a bit, so we took a short walk.

Jacob loved Mr. Potato head when he was little! He drew pictures of him, and even wore a homemade Mr. Potato head costume for Halloween one year. I'll have to find and scan a photo.

We went through the 80's section because Jacob wanted to see what that pool looked like. He'd seen photos of the others. He liked the giant keyboard, but he wasn't impressed with the pool. We didn't take any pool pictures I guess. :confused3

We headed back to the room.
We decided it really was too hot to wear costumes. So we packed them into a backpack to change later. We headed out to find the bus stop and go to the Magic Kingdom and MNSSHP!!!

Great start. I want to see your costumes to see if I remember seeing you there at MNSSHP. Oh, and Jacob looks just like you. Glad your flight wasn't delayed.

Thanks!
I was so Happy to arrive in Orlando!
I took a quick look at your tr, and I don't remember seeing you. I will be back to read the rest soon!
