Makes me glad I live in Orlando, although it's not very warm here this morning, and tonight it will be cold enough to snow!:surfweb: By the way - nice pics!

Supposed to get down to 20 degrees tonight. We have had the weirdest weather here, 2 weeks ago it was in the 70's.

My street. Glad I don't have a car!

i am assuming you used your pentax for those greg, did you get the basic lens from buydig, or some other lens...

i was leaning towards the canon s2, but really like what I am seeing from the pentax... one plus of the canon is the zoom for about two hundred less, and getting a zoom lens now for the pentax is not an option with disney coming up... having had it for a few hours, have you cropped a picture yet, and how are the enlargements holding up, especially with that lens?? second, would the basic pentax be enough for a trip to WDW (not counting memory as both cameras require that)

sorry if this makes no sense :rolleyes1

nice pictures from both of you by the way, really makes my decision that much more difficult....

Yep, that's the little beauty that came yesterday. I got the 18-55 kit lens that came with it -- I'm told that's roughly 27-90, by regular camera measurements.

I haven't looked at any really large images, just the sizes I've posted here. I've done a little cropping, but nothing significant. My old Canon 2000 SLR had a 28-90 kit lens (a Sigma) that the guy at the camera store threw in when I bought it. I used that at Disney all the time, no problem. It's the only lens I have, in fact. I may splurge and get a larger one for the Pentax after I've mastered a few things. But for now, I think it'll suit me just fine.

The basic price of the kit was $528. And then I had 'em throw in a memory card on top of that. (And last night, I trotted out to a local camera store for a lens filter...my Canon is a 55 mm, and the Pentax is 52...sigh.) For that kind of camera, I really don't think you can beat the price (and no tax, free shipping.)

FWIW: I also have a little Canon A95, which takes terrific snapshots. Aside from the obvious virtues of an SLR, I find the Pentax menu much simpler, clearer and intuitive. I also like the BIG LCD screen :sunny:

Took this a few hours ago after the driveway had been shoveled. I need to go back out again shortly and make another pass with the snow thrower. We've gotten an additional 4 inches at least. This puts us up to about 16 inches.

Nice photos everyone.

I don't know how much snow we got, but it was a lot! We're getting ready to go back out and dig out the driveway again -- since the snow plows came through a second time and pushed the snow back across the driveway.

She was not a happy camper. (Those light patches on her back are the spots where she was shaved when she had some cysts removed. I guess until the fur grows back in, the snow probably feels very cold on her back. Normally, this dog is happy to be outside in all kinds of weather and literally doesn't have enough sense to come in out of the rain.)

I think we got about 10 inches here is Jersey. Even though I wanted to try out our new snowblower I think it would have been more fun to be in Disney World.
