Did she look at who the contacts were in the phone, that may have given some ideas of whose it was too. I would think the police should be able to figure it out.
Hope it ends up ok..
I had already posted that there were no contacts in the phone. But yes, the police should be able to figure it out.

Sorry. I must have missed that.
WHo was calling? Did it show a number?
Sorry missed that...what about the number that was calling the phone? Did she recognized that or did she not have a chance to look at it...if you posted that already...sorry..
That was a scene from the movie Crash. From what I fuzzily remember, Sandra Bullock was robbed by a black man. She wanted the locks changed and the locksmith turned out to be a black man. She was freaking out as he changed the locks, even though he handed her the only two existing sets of keys when he was done.
At some point, you have to realized, some paranoia is over the top. Unless the OP's sister has some reason to suspect the neighbor, he's doing her a favor.
WTH was he doing calling it at 11:30 at night?!?!
ETA: I'm talking about the exterminator that dropped his phone.
Well, there will likely be prints on the front or back door as well and the banister of the staircase. Was the phone on the floor?
I wonder why your hubby doesn't think it was him.![]()
Does her ex have a set of keys to the house?
Well, you can add overly-sensitive too, now to very suspicious.First of all, I've never seen the movie Crash. So, I don't know what having a black locksmith changing the locks has to do with this situation or my post.Secondly, I began my post with the caveat that "I know sometimes I can be very suspicious". Thanks, but I can measure my own level of paranoia w/o your help.

This thread just made me realize I've certainly mellowed in my old age, but not in a good way.
Years ago, I would have probably freaked too. Now, I guess I'm so dumb that I would have actually gone upstairs to investigate thinking that its just a phone, never thinking it could be a PERSON with a phone.
I think I need to start watching TV & movies again.
Glad she had her wits about her.
