Okay I made a deal with my dad that if I can find him a hotel for $35 a night on the 24th of this month outside disney that he would look into Old Key West for a night or two starting on August the 8th since they have such low rates up until August 8th . If I don't go to Old Key West it's not a big deal. I am allready blessed by being able to go to the Beach Club. But this will be kinda a fun game to play and if I don't find a hotel at that price I can still say I had fun and if I do find it at that price then we can go to Old Key West :p Well we will go to Old Key West if we can.

so you get to go with OKW - because your sister found one? right?

I would go with priceline...

Well my dad kinda wants to go to Old Key West but said he just was not sure. So to get him excited I said hey if I can find a hotel for $35 a night on the 24th of June so you don't have to pay $99 a night on the 24th of June would you go for the Old Key West in August.

Let me explain my point. Me and my dad to go DisneyWorld all the time and we spend the night a lot. So if I help find him a hotel for $35 and he books those hotels a lot when we go that would save him a lot of money. With that saved money he could use it for Old Key West in August. He has always wanted to try Delux type resorts if they had a good rate and Old Key West has a good rate.

Anyways I found a hotel for $36 a night so we are going to try it out. We allready have Old Key West booked for 2 nights. We can always back out of Old Key West for a full refund of the Deposit for the 1st night as long as we contact Disney for 5 days of check in day at Old Key West. So this way we have Old Key West booked if we want to go but if we can't go we don't have to go.

I found a Motel 6 on I-192 for $35 once. I-192 has a lot of cheap hotels around where the Super Wal-Mart is.

It reminds me of the old joke "Who's on first" still trying to figure out if YOU found a hotel for 35 dollars :rotfl2:

OK, so you found a hotel for $35.00 a night. The big question is are you actually going to stay there?
I don't know about anyone else but I'd be a bit leary about staying in a $35.00 a night hotel. LOL

Are you sure that's not an hour.... ;)

I would be AFRAID to stay in a hotel that charges only $28 a night!

FC - Old Key West is not a deluxe hotel, it is categorized as a "home away from home" resort because it is one of the Disney Vacation Club resorts.

You can tell how busy Orlando is by the cheapest hotel available. On slow times, they dump the rooms. I have gotten South I Drive hotels for $39.

A couple weeks ago I looked on Expedia for this past weekend. The Econolodge Main Gate, directly south of the entrance on 192, was $32.

Technically, true.....but the room itself is pretty much on the scale of deluxe. In a studio you have 2 queen beds (not doubles), a balcony (values/mods don't have this), kitchenette---and a larger room sq footage wise.
I totally understand where you're coming from saying it's a "home away from home" resort though too....there is no valet parking (you have the capability of parking right outside your door though so no need to valet), and there is no resort room service. But if you look at the room alone, it is pretty much aligned with what a deluxe room would offer, vs a moderate/value. I suppose it's sort of in between deluxe and home away from home as far as category goes.
