Just returned from WBC. We stayed in a 2 bedroom deluxe, building 5 on the 7th floor. I did call to request a “lake” view but none were available. We still used the balcony even though we had a parking lot view. I think that most people check out on Friday therefore there weren't any lake view rooms available.

Check-in was easy. We checked in on a Thursday around 5 p.m. In and out in 10 minutes. No heavy sales pitch either– just told them we didn’t want to partake and that was that. I did notice that we had 4 phone calls but once we were in the room I had unplugged the bedroom phone and turned the volume off on the main line. Made a trip to the main building on Saturday at 3:30 and the checkin line was HUGE .... so go early to get in line or wait until later.

Room was very nice and clean. Kids loved having their own full size beds and their own room. Kitchen very nicely equipped and yes, we did have a cookie sheet. All essentials were there. We asked for extra towels and laundry soap after a couple of days and somehow we ended up with 2 people delivering the same …. So we got extra towels and laundry soap..more than needed.

I will say that the front desk never picked up our calls when we called from the room. I called them 4 times for the towels and something else but they never answered. So, I just called from my cell phone and they were Johnny on the spot and answered right away.

Pool and lazy river were great. The pool at bldg 5 is much smaller than main building and the one at bldgs 1 and 2. With that being said, this pool catered to the “older” crowd- not as many younger children, which we didn’t mind, since it was DH, me and two teens. The lounges at this pool are nice, with the mesh style not the leather strappy type. All the other pools had the leather strappy type. ( I am not sure about pool at bldg 6. I do not recall the types of lounges there.) Also, be forewarned…. Pool towels have to be signed out now. Apparently people were throwing them away and the pools went to a “sign out” policy. You can get as many as you want but you have to sign for them and then return that many. If you don’t return them, they can charge you up to $25 a towel. They are returnable at any pool. No big deal. Also, if you plan to save lounges with your towels and I strongly recommend that you do, be forewarned that the pool staff will remove your towels if no one is there. We asked about this and they told us that they do walk-throughs every hour or less and if they see empty lounges with towels and hadn’t seen anyone there in the last hour they then move the towels to 1 lounge in a heap. With that said, I would recommend someone save lounges before 10 a.m. If not, you’re outta luck. We saved lounges and had no problem with losing our seats.

Parking was an issue only when coming back late from the parks. The parking ramp was very close by so it really was not too big of an issue. Elevators in the building were always readily available. Luggage carts were limited when checking in and out. I noticed people waiting for others to return theirs because they were limited.

Didn’t use the gas grills but there were plenty and they were nice looking.

Plenty of activities around the resort. Mini golf was cute. My son loved the game room in the main building. Lots of children and adult activities around the pools and main building. Safe atmosphere too. I walked the walkway around the lake in the evenings and felt very comfortable by myself.

All in all, no major complaints. Nice staff and nice place. I would highly recommend and would definitely stay there again.

Thank you so much for your detailed review of the resort along with tips.:thumbsup2 We are staying here for the first time in a couple of weeks. We have always stayed in Disney resorts. I am very much looking forward to all the space and the ability to have a full size fridge and separate bedrooms. We loves us some Lazy River and can't wait to spend many hours on the TWO available to us at WBC!

I hope you had a wonderful vacation!

Was the shuttle service good. We have stayed before but I heard from another owner that the shuttles aren't running as late or as often as they use to. We will be there in July with a split stay between Pop and WBC, jst kind of worried about the shuttles.

What? The towels are removed? Or they're not removed?

If I need a lounge and I determine someone has "reserved" it all day with a towel, I will remove it. It's just plain selfish and rude to think you can claim a chair all day when you aren't using it.

Thank you so much for the review! We are staying for the first time in May/June. My DH and I have never stayed offsite before. We're going with my parents who are owners but have also never visited this resort. Can't wait!

Big 2nd. I have no problem removing a towel or 2 from a pool lounge chair. Heck, i will even give someone 5mins to claim that chair back. But if I am in "your" chair for an hour and you show up wanting your spot back, i will not give it back.

Other than that I agree with the thread starter. Bonnet creek is a great off site location.

that is my one complaint about bonnet creek, but the same thing happens at all the disney resorts too. I am glad employees take the towels off the chairs, it is ridiculous. There was nowhere to sit at the pool, lots of empty chairs with towels on them though. We really needed to sit, there was a table with an empty bag of popcorn and empty drink and towels on the chairs. My daughter sat in a chair and put her hat on the table. After about an hour a WOMAN (not in swimming attire)CAME OVER AND ASKED WHOSE HAT IT WAS AND WE SAID ours and she said she would "let" us sit at the table until she needed it which would be in a few hours. Apparently she was just coming to check on it. So let me get this straight, put some garbage and towels on a table and you have ownership for the day...so selfish and rude in my opinion, good for the employees for trying to squelch this.

WOW I had no idea someone who thinks they can reserve a table all day with a towel would actually confront someone - thanks for the heads up. If that happens I will be prepared to reply that you cannot reserve a table for the entire day with a towel, and if she doesn't like it she can take it up with the resort.

When I've been at Disney resorts, sometimes, in the morning, I've noticed there were towels on chairs, still folded, and no one anywhere near the pool area. My guess was those folks thought they were reserving the chairs too.

They are welcome to rent a cabana all day! Sheesh people are so rude.

Its not that people are 'reserving' anything. We just need a place to put our things down. Whether it be our towels, flip flops, beverages, or whatever. We tend to plop things down on a chair, not that we plan to use the chairs at all. It is just a place to put our stuff down. It just happens to be a chair as opposed to the middle of the pool deck.

What you're describing is different and perfectly acceptable. You are actually in the pool area. What we're talking about is someone going to the pool area early in the morning, putting towels on lounge chairs, going to a theme park for the day and expecting that those chairs will be empty and waiting for them whenever they bother to show up in the pool area.

Thanks for the clarification. I honestly never understood that this was the complaint. I am shocked that people do this!

Great review, jshowe! I am seriously considering staying at Bonnet Creek for the first time in December, so I am specifically on The Dis right now doing research for that. Thanks! :thumbsup2

I agree with you. People are rude! :headache: I have never had the courage before to actually remove the towels and sit, but I think I will now. That stuff makes me so mad!!
