Just back from POR and I have to agree with a recent poster that it just wasn't all that clean! The ceiling fan and light fixtures in our room were very dusty and I found a piece of Mickey confetti on our carpet that was not ours. We also did not get any special treatment from our maid...no towel animals or anything. I really didn't care so much about that, but I do expect my room to be immaculately clean. We stayed in AB 2518

I hear ya on that one.
We stayed in the mansion section last year and if I knew then what I know now I would have asked for a good cleaning while we were in the parks.

The lack of a clean room at Port Orleans Riverside is one of the reasons I will not stay there again. One time we checked into the room the mirror on the bathroom door was full of spots (I was able to get the spots off); the bedspread had blood stains (I have the photos for proof); there was an erring back on the floor & it was not mine; & I could go on. And don't get me started on the lack of guest service & correct info form the front desk :(.

I really want to try all of the resorts and see which ones I like the best. I can tell you...I won't go back to POR. CSR was alot better!

I have never had anything but the best of service from mousekeeping at POR, including the little animals. Staff has always been pretty friendly too. So sorry your recent experiences have soured you on POR. Its my favorite moderate and I plan to stay again. Hope I have better service than all of you.

We had a horrible experience at the POR in December. We have visited WDW 35 times over the past 13 years, always saying in onsite resorts and have never had a problem with cleanliness, from value to deluxe, until then. When we checked into our room 5 of the 6 lightbulbs were burned out. The carpet was so dirty that your socks turned black. The dresser drawer had a knob missing with a bare screw sticking out in its place. The sheets and blankets had various brown and yellow stains on them. The worst part was the bathroom. Once the lightbulbs were replaced we could see how dirty it was. The wallpaper was peeling and mildewed, and when we pulled back the shower curtain we saw that the tub was covered in dirt. You could run your finger over it and it turned black. Also the tub and tile had mildew on it. We asked to be moved to another room but were denied, although they tried to clean it while we were in the parks. We are very easy to please and have never had a problem like this before. It has definately turned us off to this resort.

I really don't understand why they denied you another room (I'm sure the hotel was booked? right?) but to leave you in a filthy room is totally outrageous!! This is going to be our 1st time as a family going to wdw and I would be quite upset if I walked into a disaster like that! Not to mention my hubby would be irate!!

anyways I am excited to go to disney, my kids have no idea what to expect, I have a feeling they think this is going to be like Six flags great america!! wrong!!

anywho, I hope you were compensated for having a room like that!!

OOPS...Now that you mention it, I notice that my ceiling fan is dusty.
It's been running all summer and this is the first day that we have turned it off. Guess I better get cleaning! :teeth:
