We went to aquatica and for the most part had fun. We arrived and found a seat over by the wave pool. We rented a locker and put our valuables in there. The brazilian tour groups were there so the lines became very long. We first went on Loggerhead lane where you sit in a tube on a lazy river and you get off midway to go on the tassies twisters (which is the funnel that you go down on a tube). The more weight the more circles you go on. We loved this one. We then went on whanau way which is just a tube going down a slide. dolphin plunge you really can't see the dolphins as you go down. We loved roa's rapids which is a river that you can wear a life vest and the current just carries you along. We spent many, many hours in there. We did not do Kookabura cove, walkabout waters or walhallo wave. We did do hooroo run. The guy asked who wanted to go backwards and I told him to surprise us and it ended up being me. That was scary. The wave pools are very small and not very much waves like typhoon lagoon. Also went on the racers which was fun. The park overall is very small compared to the disney water parks. We did not eat anything there because both days we left early and went to wendy's down the street and then to seaworld. There is not much wildlife there. You only see a small amount of fish on loggerhead lane and then the dolphins at dolphin plunge. That is all. Would I go again, probably not since I already have passes to disney's water parks but I will say that the roa's rapids were a lot of fun. Also I would like to note that the water is very warm, which makes it very easy to get in in the morning.

Thanks for the review! We are visiting WDW/Seaworld in October and wanted to do a waterpark one day...decided on Aquatica because of the price savings. Sounds like fun!

Thanks again!

The only time we can fit in is doing a half day so it sounds like that will be enough to get most of it done. Did it seem like the crowds thinned out later in the afternoon. We are planning on not going until about 5 and stay til closing. We will be doing SW for most of the day and leave around 4:30 or so and then had to aquatica for some swimming... Hope this works out okay...

From what we could tell, and what team members told us, many people leave around 4-5 pm or during big storms. So, if you go about 4:30, you should be able to get lots done. We too loved Roa's Rapids - it is a must do and much more fun with a life vest than without; look for the jets along the outer (left) wall to push you along. Not as much fun when packed though. Slides we did were fun but most had way too long lines for us. Wave pools were each smaller than Disney's but overall the 2 connected ones were larger. Waves were fun but not huge. More often than Disney's in my opinion.

Walkabout and Roa's are the two best things in the park. Yes the crowds do thing considerably after 5-6pm to the point you can do anything you want to without a wait in line.

My biggest problem with there being NO line at all, is getting up to the top without running out of breath. The first few times to the top of the Racers wore me out, but it gets easier the more I did it.

TL wave pool is designed to create surfing waves, which is much bigger than Blizzards or Aquaticas. I've just never been a fan of the large waves. Of course I grew up near the ocean.

And brazillians have a way of ruining a lot of things... I don't really care if it's tourism dollars or not, I'd rather not have them around in those tour groups. If you want to come, come as a family. I hate groups. Although school field trips are totally different.

I really love the bright colors of this water park. Disney's water parks are very lush with lots of plants and a "natural" type feel, but I was sooo drawn to the bright carribean colors of Aquatica's rides. And the dolphin tank at the front of the park (that the slide tube passes through) kept my kids' attention all day. I will say in Disney's favor that there seemed to be more seating in shady spots than at Aquatica. We went last June (2008) during a heat wave and it was killer to be in a spot at Aquatica without shade. :scared1:

I may be going with free passes, so I'm not going to be pickey...

But, how does aquatica rate for small children? I have a 6yo and 1.5 yo. We love typhoon lagoon and find plenty to keep us busy there. Is there a section for the little one with tame slides and fountains or something?

I tried the website and got frustrated trying to see everything.

Thanks!

yes, there is - Kata's Kookaburra Kove, which is near first aid and bathrooms. The 6 year old would probably also like Walkabout Waters. You could also do the lazy river - Loggerhead Lane with them.

I was pleased to read your review, thanks. We have decided to go to Aquatica as well as it was so cheap to add it onto the Seaworld ticket. I haven't been able to find very much written about it. My kids (4 and 7) saw a picture of one of the kids areas on the internet and were really impressed.

My 7 year old did every ride in the park and it is her favorite water park (water is very warm). Roas Rapids was a huge hit. The kids area is also very nice. I was pleasantly surprised by the park.
