I just got my rental for Feb 2-8 down to $210.97, 18 cancel/rebookings staring at $550. Very happy with that number, but I am not able to join up with their club to get the best price. This is with Thrifty, economy which is fine for us and comparable to what we would have gotten years ago. The discount is $179 which is what I have paid. Not too bad considering what they have been lately.

That’s really good! We are booked with Enterprise for a trip out west this summer. For a two week rental, we are paying $1550 with a corporate code through my DH’s employer. This is for a minivan. If prices drop, when should I be looking for them? Your post prompted me to check prices today and it’s still the same price as it was when I booked back in November.

I got an amazing car rental deal via techniques that I learned about on the March Car Rental thread, fyi. You might want to check that out.

The prices start to drop about 1 1/2 weeks before the trip and then after a few days many will go back up or level off. With Thrifty, which I haven´t used in awhile, the prices keep dropping. Today I got it for $180. Looks like I will get the lowest price tomorrow. That is one day away from our start.

Good luck just keep cancelling and rebooking. I have done it 20 times now, but it is worth it. I just wish I were able to join their club to avoid the counter.

Don't know your exact times and stuff but Dollar has a mystery car for your dates for $197 if you pay now. Glad to see rates are going down for everybody.

I just got back, had a week long rental from Thrifty for $155, actually got an alert from Autoslash on the day of my rental that there was a drop to $145, but it wasn't worth it to me to cancel and rebook on the day of the rental for $10.
