I did not request a wake-up call since we had no plans for this morning. Monika was scheduled to pick us up at 12:45 for our return trip to the airport and a good breakfast was the only thing on our agenda. We all showered and dressed and walked over to the Great Ceremonial House for breakfast at the Kona Café. We returned to the room to pack and had the luggage stored while we toured the Grand Floridian and the Contemporary Resort. I always buy a Mickey Mouse watch as a souvenir and a pink one caught my eye at the gift shop at the Contemporary. I also purchased a box of candy for my neighbor who was picking up my mail. We walked from the Contemporary to the ferryboat dock at the Magic Kingdom. The three of us were the only ones on board the ferry, but the dock was completely filled with people waiting to board the boat. The Memorial Day crowd must be arriving.

Walked to the resort and waited for Monika. Have you ever noticed that the ride from the airport to the resort takes forever, but the ride from the resort to the airport takes no time at all? We checked our luggage and made our way to the gate, stopping at Burger King for some lunch. The waiting area at the gate was full but we managed to find three seats together by a gentleman reading a Field and Stream magazine and a woman completely engrossed in a novel. Well, that was until Alyssa sat down and engaged both of them in a conversation. The gentleman finally gave in and just put his magazine away. The counter person announced pre-boarding for those traveling with children under the age of 4 and Paul made a comment that we would not be able to pre-board this time because Alyssa was 5, everyone and I mean everyone around us, stated, no, go ahead and pre-board, no one will care, we won’t tell that she’s 5. I think they were trying to get rid of us. I was sure that they were all secretly hoping that we were sitting nowhere near them on the plane. Well, it didn’t matter because Alyssa fell asleep before the plane was off the ground and didn’t wake up until it landed back in Houston.

Mason met us at the airport and Alyssa told him all about the trip. Paul waited out rush hour and he and Alyssa left me all alone. The vet’s office was already closed so I could not pick up Bone A. Part and the house seemed unnervingly quiet.

Paul called when he got home and said that he can’t wait to go back – yep, he’s a keeper. I’m scheduled to return in September for a family trip so the countdown has started.

Thank you for reading my reports and I hope everyone enjoyed reading them as much as I enjoyed reading them.
