So I'm having a devil of a time potty training my youngest DD. She's almost 3.5 and just has no interest at all in going potty.

Well I was sitting here on the computer and I hear trickling coming from the bathroom. I got up to make sure she wasn't playing in the sink. Well she wasn't.

She had taken off her pull up, and was trying to put her potty seat on the toilet and went all over the floor. POOR KID. She looked up at me tears coming down her face "Momma! I tried. I tried to go pee pees but I didn't do it right."

Poor thing. I gave her a sticker and got her (and the floor) cleaned up. It's a step in the right direction!

Poor thing. Sounds like her potty seat needs to stay on the potty.

Good for her, though! :)

She's making progress. You can't ask for anything more. Congratulations to her for working on becoming a big girl.

Awwww. Bless her little heart!! Good for her wanting to be independent though!

My DD was potty trained at 18 months. I put a potty down in the bathroom for her, she went in it that very first day and she never wore diapers again. I love to gloat about that because then my son came along.........

He was 5 1/2 before he was potty trained. :scared1: He still wet the bed some nights until he was 8. Apparently my professional mommy potty training skills weren't all I thought they were cracked up to be. :rotfl:

My Mom always told me to look at it this way, "every kid that goes away to college is potty trained. He will get there eventually." :goodvibes

And he did! Your DD will get there, too.

Good for her! That's progress.

I you can't keep the potty seat on your toilet at all times, then get a free standing potty chair for her. She needs to be able to use the potty without having to work at it.

Good luck!

My neice just got potty trained. The only problem now is...she thinks she needs a new pullup/panties everytime she goes to the bathroom!

OP -

Awwww, I feel sad and she's not even my kid, bless her heart. I think your DD should get a BIG (to her anyway) reward, maybe take her out for an ice-cream cone or she gets to pick what you-all have for dinner or another sticker or some little thing. I also think that the potty-chair insert should sit on the toilet or there is a potty-chair in the bathroom until your DD is comfortable sitting on the toilet. (Yeah that means for a couple of years...)

And you sound like a great mom, here's a !
agnes!

Yep, I'm gonna have to make sure that my older DD remembers to put the seat back on or uses the other bathroom.

This was the first time she tried to go without someone prompting her to, so I was excited. She couldn't figure out why I was so happy that she peed obn the floor!:rotfl2:

:lmao: I can totally picture that. Too sweet.

Awww ... That makes me want to cry. So sweet ... I agree, if the potty seat can't stay up on the potty then maybe she needs a chair on the floor just for her. I can't imagine my BIG 2.5 year old getting up on the big potty himself .. he's 40inches tall already.

She has a step stool. One that I may have to TIE to the toilet because if she tries to sneak it out of the bathroom and use it to get the "good stuff" in the pantry one more time I may just scream! :rotfl:
