Our Cast

Roger (30) DH
Jennifer (30) Trip writer
Ashlynne (9) DD

We left left Jacksonville around 11:00am, there was some minor road construction hold ups so we ended up arriving at the Poly 1:45pm. Bell services called and our room was ready so our bags were loaded up and we were wisked away to Tahiti room 1008. As soon as I entered the room I took a deep breath to see if there was any smell and thankfully there was none. I then looked around the room and the first thing I noticed was a huge bathroom:D We then headed up to the 2nd floor to do our offical check-in. The CM who helped us was Jon, he was great!! We received our Lei's and we picked up our tickets for HDDR, then we headed up the the lounge and looked around we grabbed a few cookies and soda's then we went back downstairs to unpack. The pool was calling out to Roger and Ashlynne so they took off to swim while I did the rest of the unpacking after that task was complete I decided to head to the GCH to do some shopping ...I bought a poly magnet , some postcards, and a little mickey note book so I could write about my trip:smooth: On my way back to the room I got lost I had no idea how big the Poly was thankfully a nice CM pointed me back in the right direction.

Once Roger and Ashlynne came back we all got ready for dinner. Roger was getting hungry so he went up and grabbed some fruit and cheese which we all ended up sampling it was quite yummy! We took the boat from the Poly to MK and then we boarded another boat which took us to the campground. It was a very plesant ride. Once we arrived at Ft. Wilderness we had some time to kill so we did some shopping at the trading post. We grabbed some rocking chairs and waited until it was time to be seated. We skipped having our pictures taken. We ended up having to set upstairs but it was fine with us. We loved the show, the food was really tasty...Roger and I had to get up and dance since we were celebrating our anniversary it's very rare that I get my hubby to dance so this was a very memorable moment. We will be back to see the HDDR again!!!

We opted to take the boat to the Contempary and we took the monorail back to the Poly it was quite a walk back to our bldg. We headed up the the lounge grabbed a few soda's and when we reached our room we had a lovely note and chocolate Poly candy bar waiting what a very nice way to start our first night......the only bad thing is I can't stop singing that Hoop Dee Doo song...I had my family singing it for most of our trip....tomorrow we hit the parks
:bounce:

*singing*

Hoop dee doo.... Hoop dee doo...
hoop dee doo... Hoop dee doo :p

Thanks for Day One report.... it sounds like Poly Concierge is getting their act together. :)

I love the Hoop Dee Doo show too and the song is contageous.

Looking forward to hearing more about your trip

Thanx for sharing ~ Wonderful reviews!!!!

I knew the room next door had a Disboard member. I was in room 1009 from 7/27 thru 8/3 and I saw the lime green mickey head. I also was glad to see the room had no smell. We loved our garden view and I hope we were never too noisy. One question how was your water pressure in the shower. Ours was horrible. My daughter has a thick head of hair and it took a long time for her to even get her hair wet. We had too plan accordingly each morning for her long shower. Hope you enjoyed your trip...

Sounds like a nice, relaxing way to start your trip. Now, off to the parks! :p

Do you know if Hoop-de-doo tickets can be picked up before the show if you're not in concierge? We're staying at the Poly in September and it would be so convenient to pick them up there rather than navigating our way around with 3 small children and waiting in line. Thanks for your help- can't wait to read the rest!!!
