My Poly experience-LDW

I don't know if it's the Poly that just brings this sort of "NO IT DIDN'T and if it did, it was your fault," out of people or what, but you cannot say a cross-word about the place!!! It sounds like you enjoyed your stay but mentioned a few things which could be better. Fair enough. I stayed at the Poly last year and we enjoyed it but there were things we didn't like or we thought they could do better. You would have thought I said, "Anyone who likes this resort is an idiot!!!" What the heck??? It's a hotel, folks. It's nice, some people love it, some people like it, some people dislike it. It really doesn't matter.

We were on the Luau side during our stay, too. The OP is right - it's a mass exodus when the luau lets out. If we stay there again I will stay on the other side of GCH. I, too, found the rooms to be dark in the closet area, and people do tend to congregate by the bathrooms. None of these things ruined my trip nor did they ruin the OP's trip. Just a statement of facts as I saw them.

One DISer here who appreciates hearing the good, the bad, and the ugly. We are debating about staying at the Poly next May. It will be $399/night plus tax. In order to decide if the Poly is worth that kind of money for me, I need to hear everyone's different honest reviews.

Thanks OP!

Glad you made the most of it!

It's so helpful for my upcoming trip!

And I do not have the best hearing so I'll be sure to have DH do the check-in part!

I agree that people do tend to get their dander up about their favorites! I usually don't get into debates or even answer firey comments- just because this is a happy place:cloud9: But, poor OP:guilty: I didn't get that she was dogging anyone in particular either- I am considering changing my ressies in Jan from the BC to the Poly-(we have stayed here before) - and I know there are things I forgot that I really liked/disliked and I appreciate all the honest experiences. People just back have fresh memories and this is to our advantage. I can totally understand a disagreeing view- but do we have to respond in such a harsh way? It comes across in black and white as an attack on the OP.
