My Points Question

I love Mypoints! Since we drive to Disney, I like to get prepaid fuel cards. Last trip I had $90 in gift cards, so we only had to buy one tank of gas out of pocket which was great! I hate spending vacation money on gas. Plus, if the vacation gets cancelled for some reason we can always use them at home.

My points add up fairly quickly because I order office supplies for my office through Office Depot, which is a great deal.

I had about 15,000 when I redeemed them for gas cards and restaurants.

I've redeemed about 5250 on transferring to Marriott rewards points.... 1750 mypoints = 1000 marriott rewards.... 15,000 marriott rewards = 1 night stay in 3 star... so the night at Marriott before my October Cruise will be "free"...

I get lots of points by buying from disneydirect.com and also Christian Education's favorite supply place Oriental Trading Company... lots of kewl cheap theme stuff.. 750 points for every order over $50...

Paul

Y'all all know United Air Lines is the parent company of MyPoints and that they declared bankruptcy 2.5 years ago. They're trying to
complete their restructuring plan so they can come out of bankruptcy
and today they announced they were assigning a VP of Strategy to
assess their ancillary businesses...starting with MyPoints.

Thanks for the information! I was unaware that MyPoints was owned by United Air Lines. I just cashed out 2800 points for $20 in gas cards. When Gabby comes home, we are cashing her out for the RFC gift card that we were going to wait to get until later. I want my goodies now, before any major changes occur. Thank you!!!! Maggie
