Ok I've never done one of these before! But I've been reading every one elses for far tooo long! I need to start my own!

So my names Katherine I live in Bath in England with my Fiance Mark! He asked me to marry him on 07/11/09 and we signed the wedding contract for a wishes wedding in september.

Im at uni training to be a primary school teacher and Mark is an engineer! Which is actually how we met!

I worked for the university part time as a receptionist and the day before my last shift, I was chatting away to a friend (Katy) when in walked this tall smiley man! It was Mark; apparently my automatic door wasnt working and he was there to fix it! (he insists i broke it)

I must admit i thought he was kinda cute, so everytime he went back to the van to get tools, me and my friend were giggleing (and probably being over friendly)!

I made him a cup of tea as he said he left the house at 5am (it was 5pm by now) and continued chatting to him (whilst smiling lots)!

When he finished his work; which he later admitted he prolonged. He asked me to sign the paper work. At which point my manager shouts out from her office

'he wants your name Katherine, not your number!'

Mark replies 'you cant put your number in my mobile if you like?' and produces a phone faster than ive ever seen any one produce a phone!

Well at this point I was incredibly embarrassed and couldnt look at him. I said i couldnt write it in his phone ...... I wrote it on a post it note instead!

And we still have that post it note (he kept it after his mother saved it from the laundry -lol)!

!

Welcome to the boards lady! Can't wait to hear about more of your plans and Congratz on your engagement :)

Hey guys thanks for reading!
I love how Mark and I met, it was really was at the right point in both of our lives. Everything in our lives was leading up to that point!
He really is an incredible guy! (Thank goodness he can’t read this)!!
It was really nice to read Kats PJ and here the same problems that we are having with our wedding!

Engagement!
Mark and I got engaged on November 7th 2009 at home. Although it wasn’t the most romantic proposal in the world, but that was my fault in being sooooo nosey all the time (I really don’t like not knowing what’s going on) it was a perfect proposal for us!

About a month before Mark asked me to marry him, we were invited around my parents house for dinner. This was a perfect opportunity for Mark to ask for my hand in marriage to my father! It was a really funny evening really because everybody knew that’s what Mark wanted to do, but he was sooo nervous, especially since my brother and family friends kept winding him up!

In the end my father at the dinner table said to Mark 'Are you gonna ask me or not son'? Of course my father said yes, as he really thinks the world of Mark! As soon as my dad had said yes my already very tipsy mother ran into the kitchen and came back with a very large bottle of champagne that she had been saving!

As I was still at university not a lot was happened with the wedding straight away. I was just excited to be engaged and wear my beautiful ring that mark designed and had especially made for me!
Marks auntie works in a jewellery shop (lucky me); so he chose a purple colour change sapphire and put two beautiful diamonds either side of it on a yellow gold band! It is just perfect! I always knew I want a coloured engagement ring and my favourite colour is purple, so it is just perfect for me!

In feb 2010 Mark and I went to Disney together for the first time, Mark wasn’t all that keen on going (he didn’t understand what the hype was about), but because he loved me and understood how much the place meant to me. He finally caved in!
Now when we went it did not even occur to me to get married there (it sounds impossible to comprehend that now) maybe deep down I knew that’s where I wanted to get married!

I wanted to post pictures........ help! x x

Hey sweetie
In order to post pictures on the boards, you need to have an IMG (image) code!!
You need to sign up to something like photobucket and get a free account
http://photobucket.com/
You can then upload your photos and when you have done so, you can mouse over the photo and a drop-down menu will appear under it. You just copy the IMG code and paste it into your post!!
Good luck

Thank you for your help! Could never of figured that one out!

When we were in Disney last February we stayed in Pop Century, Id never stayed there before (rest of my family had), but it was lovely. When we arrived we were exhausted from our long flight but there was no way that I was going to bed without going to Magic Kingdom first! I hadnt been for nearly 10 years!

Now my favourite ride at Disney is Splash Mountain, my parents used to leave me there when I was a kid, whilst they watched the parades, I rode Splash Mountain as many times as possible!

I was gutted to find out that it was closed our entire trip as it was having maintenance done (however it just meant that I would have to take Mark back to Disney!) needless to say it didn’t take Mark very long to find the magic of Disney and he is as hooked as I am now!

Now when I last went to Disney I’m pretty sure that Photopass didn’t exist or I was too young to even care! As Mark and I were on holiday alone it was the most amazing way of getting hundreds (yes hundreds) of photographs of us together ALL over Disney! For such a reasonable price (Dont tell Disney that)!
Looking back at our photopass photos – they look just like an engagement shoot!
Heres a few of my favourites . . .

I love your ring! Thats so lovely that he designed it for you!! I love that! It's so romantic! :goodvibes

Thank you so much guys for reading! I love my engagement ring lots! Cant wait to sort our wedding bands!

Now I’m pretty sure that every little girl that visits Disney world, dreams of having their 'happily ever after' there; but that’s just it, we dream it, you never think it’s possible!

When Mark and I started looking at venues everything stressed us out, nothing felt right. We were being pulled by both sides of our families (our families don’t live locally); 'get married here' 'get married there'. Nobody really wanted to know what we wanted to do!

But I guess you all know that feeling!

I would be speaking to someone about our wedding and they'd go: the most important thing is that Mark and I do what we want! Then two moments later I would say- 'I’m thinking about having brown bridesmaid dresses' but the same person replies ' oooo you can’t have brown bridesmaid dresses'

So the illusion of having our own happily ever after was quickly fading. I was getting upset and emotional all the time because I didn’t think organising our wedding should have been that hard! After all we were meant be together!

...........................
Then one day my mum quietly suggested 'why don’t we get married in WDW' and Mark and I looked at each other and thought 'why dont we', it suited our needs perfectly and meant that we could share the most special day of our life together with our nearest and dearest in the most amazing place in the world!!

We've both got massive families, but we both envisaged our wedding day being a small gathering of our closest friends and family. We wanted to be able to talk to everyone at our wedding, sitting on one table! I didnt want to separate us!

So when we started looking at the escape package it seemed perfect! But not as perfect as a wishes package!!!!!!

Our original plan was to get married on 28th of August 2012 (Our four year anniversary). Getting married in Florida made this perfect as over here in England our wedding would of fell on the august bank holiday which is an excuse for venues and vendors to put their prices up! Obviously Mark and I didn’t want to wait that long but we felt it was essential so that certain family members could afford to save up and come (2 and a half years to save). When we starting telling our families and friends, no one really understood; understood what being in WDW meant let alone getting married there! It really is one of the most special places in the world and the thought of being there with my parents again, Marks family, his neice and nephew and my best friends is incredible!

6 months after we told everyone our wishes, Marks family were still suggesting wedding venues to us(all the time)! Looking back I think they kinda thought Disney was a token gesture and we would come round to their way of thinking (getting married near them)! In the end Mark and I realised that we holding off our wedding for people that were never gonna save/be able to save or even wanted to really be there! So we brought it forward to 2011!

This caused MASSIVE problems. Marks father and stepmother don’t work, therefore wouldn’t be able to afford to come. We knew that when we brought it forward but we were right in thinking if we waited a year, they still wouldn’t of saved anything and would of kicked off all the same. Naturally Mark and I are gutted that his dad won’t be there; we tried to help but it got us nowhere, so eventually we just gave up. Marks family clearly thinks that it is me ‘making’ Mark get married there. However when all these arguments and problems kicked off, it actually made Mark more determined to have the wedding of his dreams (it just upset me).

Now we sent our invitations to allll our family and friends (except Marks father as we would told he would throw it straight on the fire). We have been soo touched by the acceptances that we had! Here’s our really simple invitations I designed and printed.

this is just the front, we designed it like a postcard. The back had a handwritten private message to each guest and their address!! lol
