Hi everyone -

So excited to have rejoined this great board. I was on here 7 years ago and posted about how my now dh proposed to me on our first day in Magic Kingdom in front of the castle. At the time I really didn't think it couldn't get any better than that.

Now, 6 years of marriage later, we are going again. But this time we have company, our ds Micah 3.5. We leave Oct 1. for 9 (hopefully) magical days.

To me, even the worst Disney vacation is going to be a GREAT vacation but it got me thinking what my ideal, all the planets are aligned just right and the universe is smiling on me Disney Vacation would be like. I'll share mine if you share yours!!!

My unrealistic Disney Vacation would...
- have perfect 70 degree weather every day (except when we want to swim, then it wil be in the 80's).
- have my son sit through every single ADR that I made without ever complaining he is bored, "accidentally" sliding off his seat and landing under the table, or commenting on the food of the people at the table next to us.
- offer great photo ops of my son hugging the Disney characters instead of turning red faced and screaming bloody murder while throwing a karate chop at their nether-region (sorry Chuck-E-Cheese!). :rolleyes1 Although I guess that would have made quite the picture.
- have Space Mountain be open! :sad1:
- have my DH "forget" to buy any super expensive disney golf or disney hockey merchandise. (yeah, right!)
- have us selected as the opening ceremony family!:woohoo: Bonus if we are not mistaken for "The Simpsons".
- have small crowds and even smaller wait times for attractions.
- be like the movie "Groundhogs Day" and keep repeating over and over again.

One can dream right? Right? :)

Congrats on your return trip! Just wanted to say my husband propsed to me on a bench in front of the castle 11 years ago. Now everytime we go back, we have our picture taken in that exact same spot. With the addition of your little one, it is sure to make for a wonderful keepsake and a great story to share every time you look at the picture. For us, it is neat to see how our family grows every time we take a picture in "our spot." Just thought it might be something to add to your fun "to-do" list. Enjoy!

That is a GREAT idea Tweedlemom!! Thanks. I knew there was a reason I loved this board!:thumbsup2

Ooh, I'll play!

We've already had one "near-perfect" trip, so there isn't much room for improvement. But a night or two in the castle suite would be nice. :) And WDW buses are pretty good, but a personal limo waiting to take us to our next destination would be better. Hey, you said it didn't have to be realistic. :rotfl:

I'd settle for a week with no major tears/meltdowns from anyone, and an autograph from Daisy Duck. We missed her last time, and my girls really wanted to meet her.

I too would settle for a week with no tears/meltdowns, and our children living in perfect Disney harmony with each other.

It would also include no major problems at home. Last time our hot water heater went while we were away, and this time our dog became deathly ill and we just got home tonight and he passed away 2 hours later. :(:sad1:

I'd love for all to be well on the homefront, and wonderful family togetherness while there. Oh, and no 30-40 min waits for ADRs! :)

After our last trip where it rained about 90% of the day every day we were there and was around 95 degrees every day on top of the rain (in October), all I'd ask for is sun. I can handle a stray shower, but please, no all day drenchers again.

Oh no! So so sorry about your fur baby. We lost one of ours the day before our honeymoon. On our trip I found a Christmas ornament of a Shepard dog with a halo and angel wings and I ended up crying (along with hubby) right there in the store. It still has a special place on our tree.

Well, the last time we were there, with the exception of being the opening ceremonies family, that was our vacation! The weather was exactly as you described - we started the day in shorts and long sleeved shirts, tees in the afternoon, long sleeves in the evening. All 5 kids behaved beautifully, and we had the DDP, so lots of ts meals. There was not a single argument the whole 10 days we were on vacation! We got to the parks at rope drop, rode everything we wanted before 1 pm, puttered around a bit, and then went back for a swim at the BC. Have fun!

Like you said, its WDW so it can't be all that bad anyway, but here's my list.

~Sunny and mid 70's to low 80's weather all week.
~A few extra days so we could spend time lounging at the pool and exploring. (had to squeeze in a visit to family during this trip so it cut WDW time down a bit. :( )
~My DS's to get along marvelously with no bickering.
~the DXDDP :)
~to spend one night alone with my DH somewhere on property.. maybe the GF??
~to make the sights, sounds and magic last forever. :)

Kids who want to look and not buy everything.
Kids who actually like and get along with their siblings for an entire trip.
To run into all the characters we have not yet got a picture with yet.
To have the perfect spot during the fireworks at magic kingdom. Where I can take nice photos and still see it all.
And to spend a night in the castle:love:Just one and I will be happy for the rest of my life:goodvibes

I can't believe you guys forgot to add a personal greeting by Mickey himself when you get to your hotel. Jeez Rookies.
Our last trip was really just about perfect. There is not a single thing i could complain about. Kids got along beautifully. Little daughter (almost 3 at the time) found everything to be completely magical and couldn't wipe the smile off her face the whole time. Loved our resort!! Some rain showers, but I like rain and it didn't rain all day.... just enough to cool things down and get rid of some of the people. The parks were empty. Walked on space mountain 3 X in a row at MNSSHP. Also walked onto Dumbo, Splash Mtn, Thunder Mtn. etc. That night was AWSOME!!! We even got to ride on the magic carpets with Genie and Abu. No waiting for ADRs. Anyhow, it really couldn't have gone better unless you start putting in those things that really just never happen.

This is too funny - 2001 DH proposed in fron of the partners statue of Walt & Mickey in front of the castle - 6 years later we have 3 daughters, 400 DVC points, we just returned Aug 26th and I am already planning a suprise trip in May for just the girls - DH is staying home!

My perfect trip would include my DD's getting along and agreeing on which ride or show to do next, very short to no waits, not hearing "my legs are tired, they say you need to carry me", "Mommy you made my pee-pee come out!!!", " I can reach this sink Mommy but somebody left their salad in it..." & having children who would actually look at the camera and not off in the distance to the right when taking pictures. Yeah, I would be happy with these things - heck I would take just one of them and be ecstatic!
