So, my parents planned a last minute trip 2 weeks ago. They only managed to grab 1 ADR when they called. They continued to call everyday and still nothing opened up for them.
Well, they are in WDW now and they went to visit AKL today. They went up to the desk at Boma at 3:45 & ask a CM if there were any cancellations. The cast member said, "Yes! I can give you a 5:45 ressie. You are all set for a party of four My dad I guess looked confused and said "No, we are only a party of two" The CM winked at my dad & said "You are all set for a party of four"
2 hours later they were enjoying their meal at Boma!!!
So, I guess that's the trick to scoring last minute ADR's. Not sure how ethical that is (not fair to the real party of 4's). In their case it was fine, but why wouldn't the CM's on the phone just give them an open 4 top table? My parents also mentioned that the restaurant was not even half full when they ate there tonight.
