Here is the teaser: I don't have a purple box but I am now an Owner's Locker member.
We went to WDW mid-October. I am golfer. I have two sets of clubs, one of which I would have liked to just leave in Orlando since we go to WDW two to three times a year. Before this trip I checked out some regular storage facilities but they all wanted monthly payments that were too high.
I thought I was out of luck. I had heard of Owner's Locker on these boards and checked out its site. Everything was for the purple box and it did not look like the service could be used for just golf clubs. Did not want the purple box at this time (may consider that later). All I wanted was to store clubs. On a flyer, i decided to send an email and ask if they would just store clubs. That began a process of several emails and phone call exchanges with John Van Meter (who I assume is one of owners, if not the owner). I learned they have stored clubs before for those with boxes but I became unique -- the first member of Owner's Locker just for golf clubs. Since I did not get a purple box I did not have to pay the membership fee which is mainly to cover the purple box. The clubs are just stored in my golf bag. John mentioned that I was actually calling at the right time because they were planning to offer a process that allowed new members to sign up just to store clubs and they plan to have something on the site in the future to allow for golf club membership sign-up. I am paying the same $99 a year as other members and $25 for each delivery and pick up. He actually waived my $25 fee for this trip for putting up with "hassle" of being the first member in this class because it took emails and a few phone conversation to get it done including doing the application over phone. It was not a hassle at all , and he did not have to do it, but it was a nice touch.
The most stressful time came when i turned over the clubs to guest services at AKV Kidani when we left and asked them to be put them with any purple boxes to be picked up. The CM was puzzled and actually asked how they were supposed to get the clubs into the purple box. Worries were put the rest when I received the email from Owner's Locker telling me the clubs had been picked up.
So there it is. The first golf clubs only member with only the following to add: John was one of the most pleasant and attentive managers of any organization I have ever dealt with. Kudos to Owner's locker.
