DH, me, DD#1(10) DD#2 (7) DS (4)--last trip 12/01
my parents, leaving day 6--mom (70) Dad (72)--last trip 1988
On Friday we all got up and did our usual packing, checking under beds, etc. Anyone lose a thing of blue sunscreen and a "Bible action songs" tape in room 3069 under the footstool in the big bedroom, EMail me.
We waited until 10:30 to send our bags down, then at 10:55 walked down with Mom and Dad's two bags--we had no phone call or knock to remind us to check out. We shopped at the Screen Door store--mom and dad got better souvenirs for my sister's kids--nice T shirts. DH called the office and was on for about 20 minutes. Then we walked down to ESPN right at 11:30 and went in for lunch. I think this place is underrated for burgers, they are awesome. I do think Alan Trammel deserves a better spot for his jersey than by the bathrooms!! It was raining off and on, so after lunch we made our way to the lobby. We sat outside until TTC picked mom and dad up at 1:30. They really had a good time and even though they aren't very effusive with me, raved about what fun they had and what good plans I had made to my sister. I was very happy with this.
The rest of us got on a bus to MK, then a monorail to TTC and walked to the Poly. OUr lagoon view concierge room was READY! Our stuff wasn't there, but I had our swimsuits in a bag in the stroller so we headed to the pool--and I dug out my Poly mug for some iced tea, yum!! AFter our stuff got there we relaxed (DS fell asleep) until concierge dinner time, where we stuffed ourselves with italian food. We had ENight tickets, so we headed to MK and stopped off to get a BDay button for me--midnight would start my 39th Bday!! We shopped and found out, no they don't have replacement bands for the watch I bought last year. We went to Fantasyland and hit all the rides as it got darker. We didn't do Spectro again. Did Peter Pan, Pooh, Dumbo, Small World, and Snow White. As the fireworks started we headed to Haunted Mansion to start ENight--we were the only ones in the stretching room!! Just the 5 of us and a CM!!! It was very very cool. AFter HM we headed to Tomorrowland. I met DAve and Jennifer from Passporter and Deb from WDWIG. We did Buzz twice. The second time, using the orange robot target, I got 426,000 and DD#2 got over half a million! Then DH took DS on Astro Orbiter (which we had never done) while I took the DDs on Space Mt., 10 min. wait max, then we all did TTA, and DH did Space while I took all the kids on A.O. we headed out of there and to the back of the park. We did Splash and BTMRR (both firsts for DS again!!) and it was getting to be about 12:30 so we headed up front. Got great pix of all kids with both Mickey AND Minnie, and Goofy as well. DH took DD#1 on Alien ENcounter--the first year we went I told him to check it out before he took any kids and he did, but thought by now DD#1 could handle it. She hated it. Meanwhile we waited by the castle and the other two were almost sleeping! WE left the park at 1:30 and it was very cool.
The next day--our view was for naught because it rained like crazy all day!!! My BDay vision of a pina colada in a hammock was dashed! We took the girls for a hula lesson in luau cove, which was a lot of fun--it wasn't a CM, it was an actual local class that meets weekly. A lot of the kids are kids of CMs who are in the luau show. With Lilo and Stitch being really hot, the girls loved it, but they both have years of dance class behind them.
Figuring the rain would make MK a mess, and we had done most of it last night, we headed to DD. I got souvenirs for those who needed them (in laws!) and for myself--a pullover, 2 CDs, a postcard, some pins, etc. Later I got two candles and a vase (which broke on the plane) at Disney at Home, and 3 ornaments at the Christmast store. I only with the new toy store had been open!
We went back to the Poly and later to Ohanas for dinner. I got a cupcake for dessert but I HAD to try a coconut snowball--if you like coconut this is to die for. I also had two Malibu sunsets.
We watched our fireworks from our patio so our LV room was not a total waste, since the lounge windows were WAY fogged up by humidity. We all went to sleep by 11 I think.
