I know that there has been alot of contraversy aroound cms and the disney spirit but this is just my opinion.......

Before i could walk or even talk disney has always been there. Every where you go disney is there. Whether it be to the video store, the mall, or the clothing store Disney is always right in front of us. Before i could say whole sentences i was humming the disney songs. As i grew older i dreamed of being a true disney princess. I used ot pretend i was locked away in my house an some day a handsome prince would come and rescue me. Or I was Belle(my all time favorite princess) and my dog was the beast. Unfortunatley with my dog he never transformed into a prince. Even to this day i still hope he will suddenly bloom into a prince and take me to prom, haha ah the naive dreams. But back to my story. All i wanted to do since I was little was go to Disney World. I seemed like the only kid in the world who had never been. I wanted to visit the castle and sing with Bell.

Finally in 1998 I got my wish. I had the blues because i was no longer the only princess in the family. I could share my dad with my little brother but not a sister to. So in October my mom finally gave in and off to WDW we went. The trip was SO magical. the first four days my ear was killing me but i didnt complain. After all i was in WDW. But then on the 5th day i got really sick. All of a sudden my ear started bleeding. The Cms calle an ambulance and it turned out i had a ruptured ear drum. The time at the hospital was pure hell. I had to get a shot and i was deathly afraid of needles. When i came back i went right to bed while my mom and dad watched over me. Then the next morning i arose to a phone call my mom siad it was for me. It was CINDERELLA o my gosh i was so happy she said she really felt bad. I was almost in tears. She also told me she had presents and they would be there shortly. After 10 minutes we hung up. Next thing i knew there was a knock at the door. The cm had brought me flowers and a minnie and mickey doll. Not to mention personal letters from cinderella snow white and winnie the pooh. My trip was awsome after that and i thanked all the cms with tears in my eyes.
Although, the cms are nice now they were waaaaaaaaay waaaaaaaaay nicer back then. I miss how it used to be. Sure the trips were magical after that but they are missing something. I understand that September 11th happend and there was alot of side effects. But, isnt disney supposed to be like a dream world. A place where a girl can find her prince, elephants fly, and the fun never ends. A trip is what you make of it but at the same time the mroe the cms help the happier it is.
I will never forget the Cms that did this for me. I will be 16 in a fe months and all of them have left perminent marks on this little girls heart. I wish disney will get back its old standards. I mean what would Walt think if he knew these peoples complaints. Eisner has the power to turn it around. If he wont do it for himself, or us, he should at least do it for Walt. Walt left a legacy and i dont know what i would do without disney. He helped m live my childhood and for one week in a year lets me escape reality.
Disney wasnt built on a plan of money, or a plan of attitude, it was built because of one mans dream. Lets all wish upon a star for the old disney because if Disney keeps going in the direction it is it is going to be a sorry day.

Thanks for your attention......

kirstyn

Ps: People say i write good i dunno if its true........ O well just thought i should share.......

Well said err... written, DisnyGirle4Life. I was a child when the original Mickey Mouse Club was on TV and passed my love of Disney to my family. There are times when I wish Walt Disney were still alive and in control.

All I can say is "Well Done". I can't agree more with your feeling on things and I am much older. Working for Disney is like working in the movies. They are there to put on a show and create a mood or feeling. It seems that they no longer have the standard of "Creating" this feeling for people. Look at all of the Celebrities that got their start at Disney. I understand that times have changed and the world is a different place, but it is still Disney!
The entire concept of Disneyland or Disney World is the creation of a different WORLD! You are leaving reality and going to a fantasy world. With the world changing so fast today, we sometimes need to get away back to a time when it seemed that life was much more simple. It just seems like Disney (under Eisner's hand) is all about the all mighty Dollar. While we understand Disney has to make money to provide such services and have money to expand, we don't have to pay for bad attitudes, mouthy service or rude treatment. We hear of so many nice, wonderful and sweet things, but; when someone posts bad reviews the response tends to be that that person deserved it or is exaggerating. Yes, the truth is somewhere in the middle, but after many trips to our home away from home we have noticed a difference. Yes, being that we have been there before we can tell the difference; however I hope that the people there for the first time don't encounter the bad eggs that are popping up around the world. Disney is NOT just an amusement park it is marketed as a trip back to the good ole days, when little girls are all princesses and little boys are all prince's. Disney set the standard that seems to be going a little south, while other companies are thriving on the bad press of Disney and are making profits hand over fist.

BRING BACK THE MAGIC:wizard:

Side note: I feel for all of the people going in the next year, I have never seen Disney have so many rides down for rehab or construction. They should limit it to 1 attraction per park down at any given time. That would give them more workers to complete tasks faster as well as not having barricades or walls up creating eye sores for guests. After all we are the guests and don't people normally clean their houses before the guests come?

Just our .02 cents.

just grew up.We all remember our childhood and the good things

Unfortunately the "World" isn't perfect. And sometimes it's not always "Magical" the way we want it to be no matter how magical we make it. I've had many many wonderful memories and a few not so good ones. I am just fortunate that I can take trips to WDW with my children. We are blessed to have what we need and much more!! :D

Fantasia-Adorable children!

I guess I expect that I will be attended to and treated nicely, that CM's will generally smile and do their best. When a CM goes out of his/her way, I consider that something extra-special, not necessarily something I expect or demand. I've always had a good time at WDW. I suppose in my own experience there are those empolyees who haven't always gone the extra mile, but I've run into very few who haven't at least been pleasant. I try and focus on the good stuff and ignore the bad stuff (albeit I've been lucky and the bad hasn't been that bad--I know it has been for some people!)

Anyway, I plan on having a nice trip and being treated like a person. If more than that happens, I'll consider myself lucky.
