I promised some posters my opinion of the Anaheim Hilton. We stayed there for 3 nights last week after cashing in my Hilton Honors points.

The good points:

1. It was free
2. We really enjoyed a room service dinner one night, fast service and very tasty burgers.
3. It has a Starbucks in the lobby

The bad points:

1. It was totally charmless. I have never seen a plainer Hilton, inside, outside, and in the rooms.
2. Customer service was inadaquate, twice when i had questions I was transfered and then "lost" without ever getting an answer.

Neutral:
1. The view

we had as nice a view as there was (8th floor) but you have to decide if it is good or not.It was DL, but what it really did was emphasie that DLR is smack dab in the middle of a city.

2. The walk

although the walk was easy, and we actually enjoyed playing the "liscense plate game" while cutting through the parking lot, and pretending the tram was the peoplemover, for some it would be a complete deal breaker.
here are the pictures of the convention center portion of the walk.

Dang! Mackenzie looks like a young(er) Judy!!!!

Good to know about the hotel. Maybe because they're so close to the convention center they feel they do not have to entice guests.

What a shame, though. Glad the weather was good for you, though.

Thanks MJ :)
I totally agree with your theory. I bet 90% of their guests are either convention or reward stays, the last 5% is most likely low bids! I just don't think they beleive they need to spend money attracting what is really a captive audience.

We stayed at the Hilton last month and it was nice. Beds were very comfy. Room service was excellent. Front desk, Conceirge, and Disney Desk staff were all friendly and helpful. Paid $50/night through Priceline. Can't beat it considering rack rate is only $89, Motel 6 is $75 for the same dates.

The remodeling last year really improves the place from the horrible 70's-80's look it had. We enjoyed our stay and are staying again next week. Sure theres better but I don't want to spend $150+/night for only slightly better. It compares with the Doubletree, Marriot etc.

Thanks for reporting back. We are staying there in May (for free) so I am happy to read your report. :goodvibes

Thanks for the report, especially about cutting through the parking lot. :thumbsup2 We're staying there in December.
