My only complaint about DVC

Our guide has always returned my phone call in timely manner. He was out for 3-4 months this year and we had another guide on his team. He has been there since day one and she a little after. He (our real guide who is back now) does not call me to welcome me home or...... but he does what is important and always calls me and answers my questions and does take notes and asks about my wife and son and how I liked....... when we do speak. I think it is more of what went on in the real estate market... DVC is a give me there are is very little "sales" needed. When we were looking for a house 4 years ago the agenst would be sitting there watching TV hand you a flyer and tell you to loook around and let them know if you had any questions.. This was when houses were cheap 350-550 around here :lmao: after we bought our house and prices went up I suggeseted this agency to a friend and after the agent not calling back for two they got in contact with her and she said she just did not have the time right now to help them
For me DVC is a give me right now and like the now dropping real estate market at some point the newer guides will need to learn how to sell or be gone.

I miss my guide Hassan:sad1: .He called us after we would check in and see how things were.We used to stop by the sales office to just say Hi.He has called us at home a couple of times to check and see how we were.
We would always have our phone calls returned very promptly.

But I would have thought no less of him if he had of only called one time after.Thats just how it is in sales. When I as in car sales I would call at the 3 day mark after purchase and make sure everythin was okay and that was all that we were suppose to call.

Well, finally got through to get the purchase done. :thumbsup2 Took less than ten minutes! :yay:

IF you have been leaving messages try hitting the "0" key during the message. It will go to another line where you will either get a person to pick up or it will go to another voicemail. :sad2: Do not leave a message. :rolleyes1 Just call back every once in a while repeating the above process and someone will eventually answer the phone. ;)

Drafting a letter to Mr. Lewis next!! :woohoo: With a resume!!;)

Personally, I don't want a call from my guide unless I need something from her, like to add on points. What else are they good for? sales, that's it. I want to enjoy my time at Disney with my family, not talking to a guide.

Now Customer Service from most other Cast Members is an absolute must, but my guide is nothing but a real estate sales professional.

Enjoy your vacations!

Our guide is Ken Bradshaw. He is very professional, pleasant and always gets back to us in a timely fashion whenever we need to reach him. We 1st purchased 10 yrs ago with a different guide who has left since then, but have added on a couple of times with Ken over the years (the last being AKLV's this past Feb). We are very pleased with him as our guide and highly recommend him!!!!

Our guide, Michelle Macalister, simply the best! Has always left me a welcome home message on the room phone, always calls me back and when I call her she knows me by my accent.:rotfl2:

Ken is our guide too. Walked us through when we didn't buy in 2002 and was able to be there in 1 hours notice when we came through in April. He was excellent to deal with and very helpful.

Go with Gib McCain. Never will you "lose that lov'in feeling".

He is our guide also. We have our first DVC trip coming up in less than 10 days and he called yesterday to make sure we had received our permanent member ID cards and to see if we had any questions.

It was a nice touch and made us feel like we had made a good decision.

My guide, Bernard LeBeaupin, is wonderful. I've done several add ons, changes, etc. He always calls me back right away, (leaves a voice mail on his recording, saying if he is gone for a while), and is very pleasant.
Hearing the stories from others about their lack of service makes me extremely happy that I have Bernard.
My first purchase was a small resale. He called to welcome me home and let me know if I needed any other points or had questions to call. Well I have certainly taken him up on that offer!

In reading this thread (and others) about service from one's guide, DH and I are so jealous of some of you, and are developing GUIDE-ENVY! :rolleyes1

Please understand, we're not looking for a friend, counselor, or buddy, we're just looking for someone who would act in a manner of, say, a pleasant waiter! :sad1:

In almost ten years, we have had ONE phone call returned, plus our initial meeting with him to buy BWV, and this is with two separate add-ons! :sad2:

I truly don't think our expectations are too high to expect 3 or 4 contacts in that period of time.

Our guide, Steven Fisher, has always been great. He always welcomes us home with a voice mail and then for our 5-yr anniversary, he sent flowers and a DVC mug with Goofy. That's how you earn and keep business!

Steve is our guide too! We just joined DVC and bought at AKV in April. We met Steve at the preview center at SSR on our last day of vacation. We never felt pressured during the tour and he answered all of our questions. We went home and called him a day or two later to buy. He walked us through the rest over the phone and everything went as smooth as could be. Our first trip home to OKW is coming up on 8/26, and while I don't think I'll be getting flowers or a mug on my first visit, a voicemail would be a nice touch.

Grammy, you MUST have the same one as we do and I have not and will not mention the name here. But, on the 2005 members cruise he was on the ship! We wanted and did add on points during that cruise and ended up with the sales manager doing the paper work etc.. Never got a follow up or anything from the guide. In his defense, it was a circus atmosphere for the DVC team in genreal for the entire cruise.

I do know that they have quotas to reach bonus's and I am thinking that only NEW members qualify towards that quota! :confused3

Thanks so much!
DH and I were beginning to think it was just US! :rotfl2:
It's so comforting to feel someone else seems to realize we're not looking for  , just acknowledgment that we exist! :rotfl:
:hippie:

(Oops..............I just noticed a possible reason..............he's anti-PAM (my name, too))!

:headache: We are in the same boat it seems. DH has really put his foot down about adding on because we had a bad experience with our guide when we wanted to add on before the price change. DH is now looking at resales. :guilty: It is sad because our guide was great in the beginning. Maybe they are overworked. Don't know but for all the money we spend with DVC we all seem to be getting the shaft in one way or another.

I did not and would not let the "guide" deter you from getting in on good deals that are offered through DVC. I managed to get the deal that prompted this thread, completed without the guide. All in all the DVC works fairly well. They do need some improvement in sales when it comes to filling members requests for add on's.

I think it was worth the time it took to chase someone down to complete the new purchase and we have already made plans using the points we bought and the double developer points.

Open letter to the DVC guides (some of them):

YOU'VE LOST THAT LOVING FEELING (The Righteous Brothers)

You never close your eyes any more
When I call you up (removed: kiss your lips )
And there's no tenderness like before
In your fingertips
You're trying hard not to show it baby
But baby, baby I know it

You've lost that loving feeling
Oh, that loving feeling
You've lost that loving feeling
Now it's gone, gone, gone
Whoa-oh

Now there's no tenderness
In your eyes when I reach for you
And girl/boy you're starting to criticize
little things I do
It makes me just feel like crying baby
'Cause baby, something beautiful's dying

You've lost that loving feeling
Oh that loving feeling
Bring back that loving feeling
Now it's gone gone gone
And I can't go on
No-oh-oh

Baby baby I get down on my knees for you
If you would only love me like you used to do
We had a love
A love a love you don't find every day
So don't...don't...don't let it slip away

Bring back that loving feeling
Oh, that loving feeling
Bring back that loving feeling
Now it's gone...gone...gone...
And I can't go on...
No-oh-oh...
