I get 1/2 a day with my wife at WDW while my parents watch the kids at off site condo. What should I do? We arent 'foodies' but I booked LeCellier since it was open. All parks and all ideas are welcome and luckily my budget is wide open. I just really want to make this special.

My DH and I did a date night at Epcot September 17! We shopped around U.K. then headed for Japan. Checked in for our reservation at Tokyo Dining, got a buzzer that worked anywhere in Japan. Did a flight of sake at some little sake hut, went shopping in the mitsukoshi store then headed back up to the restaurant. By this time, we were both buzzed to the point we couldn't stop laughing. We ordered a ton of sushi and had a blast! We walked around Germany after that and then headed home after fireworks. I ate the leftover green tea cheesecake on the monorail, lol. Anywhere is Epcot showcase is fun. The point is, it's just the two of you so let loose.

World showcase or a couples massage at one of the spas?

If your wife has a preference for anything I would definitely go with that lol

Wild Africa Trek tour in AK (3 hours) - noon tour
Go to Epcot and ride on my favorite WDW attraction - Soarin
Leisurely explore World Showcase - kids don't love it so I always feel rushed
Dinner of your choice at Epcot - sounds like LeCellier
Ferrytale Wishes: A Firework Dessert Cruise to end the night

we have had a date day a few times thanks to the grandparents. My best advise is DON'T OVERPLAN. One time we had several things booked, which we managed to attend. But it felt rushed. The next time we had nothing at all planned and we just wandered around WS and the Boardwalk. It was honestly a much more enjoyable, romantic evening that way. Either way it will be fun. But if you are hitting the parks hard with the kids, a totally opposite approach is best for a special night.

I took my sister's kids for an evening so she and her DH could have a date night. I made a ressie for them at Cali Grill for the fireworks time. It was going to be perfect. The day before, she asked if I'd be upset if they cancelled CG and they just went to MK for the night. I just laughed and told her it was their night to do what she wanted. They did MK and rode everything without worrying about kids then went to DTD until 2:00 am. Whatever you do together will be special and fun.

We like to listen to the pianist at the Grand Floridian in the afternoon, and have dinner at the GF

A couples massage at either Saratoga springs or grand Floridian then dinner. I have had a massage on my birthday at Saratoga springs and it was wonderful well worth the money if your into that

Get them to watch the kids overnight and book your own room for the night?

Disney is the only place my husband and I ever get to go on dates since we have no local sitters but my parents live near Disney and are always happy to watch the kids when we're there. We've done dinner and shopping in DTD, walking around WS sampling snacks and drinks from the different countries, days alone in MK (we always notice all kinds of stuff here we never notice when we're wrangling kiddos lol). On our last date we had a late dinner at CG and watched Wishes. Whatever you do I agree with not over planning things. Our best dates have been the ones where we just pick a park or restaurant and kind of go with the flow. I'd also get her input unless this is a surprise. Have a great time!

How sweet and nice! I love it when my husband and I get some alone time while at Walt Disney World! Le Cellier has a lovely menu and we really love the pretzel bread. You can call the Disney Cake Line at (407) 827-2253 and pre-order a really special dessert. Be sure to do that at least 48 hours in advance. The Cast Members can help you come up with something special. My husband surprised me with a Cinderella Chocolate Slipper for our date lunch one year! It was so sweet and romantic!

For a special date night dinner I would go to Monsieur Paul in the France pavillion for dinner. For the afternoon my husband and I love to stroll the World Showcase and enjoy all of the features that we miss when we are with our children. We spend time shopping and poking around the pavillions. It is fun to go into the shops even if we aren't buying! There are so many treasures in those pavillions!

The Illuminations cruise is truly special and quite romantic for two people! You can order special treats to be delivered to the boat to enjoy during your cruise. We had a cake delivered as we were celebrating a birthday that trip.

My husband and I have even enjoyed date time outside of the parks. We went over to the Monorail resorts and stopped at each one having a snack or cocktail and enjoyed poking around. We especially enjoyed having a cocktail from Mizener's and listening to the music in the Grand Floridian lobby.

Have fun and enjoy!
